Chapter 97: Chapter 93, Success_1
"Alright, then..." Ge Xing turned towards the beast crowd behind him: "Fellow tribespeople, who will try their luck with these beast-eating fish?"
As soon as he finished speaking, three beautiful orcs with alternating black and white hair colors and slightly slender figures than other orcs stood out from the crowd. One of them, who was a bit older, said: "Clan Leader, let me lure the beast-eating fish. My two younger brothers here can fly over the river and rescue the Orcs in the water."
Ge Xing nodded: "Ok, you brothers are powerful Rock Eagle Orcs of the tribe, make sure to keep yourselves safe."
Ying Yan nodded.
At this moment, Xiu Yan interjected: "Uncle Clan Leader, I will go into the river."
Ge Xing didn’t say anything and simply nodded in agreement, selecting one Snake Orc. The hunters from the Hunting Team carried over a Green Bull Beast and firmly tied it up with sturdy vines.
Xiu Yan put Ji Nuan down: "Stay close to Uncle Clan Leader, and never go near the river, okay?"
Ji Nuan, anxious, nodded: "You be careful too, if anything seems off, come back up immediately."
Though this was her idea, the outcome was unforeseeable. She had never experienced anything so dangerous before. The only true test of strategy was practice.
Xiu Yan nodded, stopped wasting time, and slowly entered the river with another Snake Orc from the tribe.
There were still some beast-eating fish moving in the river, but the log-like crocodile was nowhere to be seen.
After the two Orcs entered the river, Ying Yan also transformed into a Half Beast form. With his sturdy arms, he picked up a dead Green Bull Beast and flew over Eneru River.
Blood from the bitten Green Bull Beast kept dripping, spreading across the river surface. Like wild animals that had smelled blood, the school of Beast-eating fish swarmed towards the bloody part of the river.
However, there were no Beast-eating fish around Xiu Yan and the Snake Orc in the river. Seeing this, both of them quickly swam towards the opposite bank.
On the Tumang Tribe side, they were laid flat seeing that the Watson Tribe had thought of such a method to avoid Beast-eating fish’s attack.
Damn Watson Tribe Orcs, they clearly said they didn’t have a safe way to cross the river just a moment ago. After so many of Tumang Tribe’s Orcs had died, they suddenly had such a safe method to cross the river. This was infuriating.
Lu Te looked at the conceited expressions on the faces of the people across the river and his killing intent increased several folds. He smiled sinisterly seeing the two Watson Tribe Orcs getting closer to the riverbank...
Walking to the edge, he picked up an old orc whose leg had been ripped off and threw him into the river.
Immediately, the smell of the old orc’s blood dissipated in the river. The deep green currents at a distance paused and then rushed over here with more ferocity.
The old orc fell not too far from Xiu Yan and the Snake Orc. If the Beast-eating fish swam over, the two Orcs drenched in blood would definitely not survive their attack.
Watching the Beast-eating fish group approach swiftly, Lu Te was delighted and couldn’t help laughing out loud: "Ge Xing, you enjoyed seeing so many of our tribespeople of Tumang Tribe die, right? Now it’s time for you to taste this."
Ge Xing didn’t pay any attention to his provocation. He just waved his hand and two Rock Eagle Orcs flew down from the sky and rescued Xiu Yan and the Snake Orc who were surrounded by the bloody smell.
They slowly flew back to the other side of the river.
Lu Te’s arrogant laughter stopped abruptly. He stood there, face ashen, watching the old orc in the river being eaten by the fish with nothing left, not even bones.
His eyes turned red.
"Let’s go, don’t waste time. We’ll have plenty of chances to deal with them later." Ya Li’s voice sounded in his ear: "But, Clan Leader Lu Te, I recommend not causing any trouble in this conference. Our tribe has fewer Orcs than the Watson Tribe, if anything happens, you know..."
Lu Te’s eyes flashed. He squeezed out a stiff smile: "I was too impulsive. I will listen to you, Ya Li."
"Tribespeople, once you’ve rested, we will set off and try to get to the conference location early so that everyone can have some meat." Saying this, he turned around and led the way.
His coarse hand tightly squeezed the Beast Skin in his hand. Lu Te’s eyes were filled with resentment. That damn old Shaman always opposed him being the Clan Leader, and now, even his disciple, Ya Li, didn’t respect him as the Clan Leader.
Just wait, one day they’ll all die out there. A tribe only needs one Clan Leader, the Shaman should only be responsible for healing, what’s he doing sticking his nose into everything else!
...
"How are you guys? Are you okay?" Once Xiu Yan and the Snake Orc landed, Ji Nuan rushed over in great anxiety. After circling Xiu Yan several times and making sure she didn’t see any wounds or blood, she finally relaxed.
The Snake Orc on the side looked at her with some envy and couldn’t help but grumble: "Ji Nuan only cares about Xiu Yan, she doesn’t even care to see if I’m hurt!"
