Chapter 157: Chapter 158: Scheme_1
Ji Nuan laid Xiu Yan down on the heated brick bed, grinning, "I understand that helping the Liangshan Tribe can be dangerous, but what if we convinced the Liangshan Tribe to join the Watson Tribe?"
Uncle Ge Xing’s eyes widened in shock, "That’s not possible. Liangshan Tribe is an old tribe that has been passed down for a long time. Even if their population has decreased, they wouldn’t abandon their tribal heritage to join another tribe."
Ji Nuan shook her head, "Uncle Ge Xing, nothing is impossible. As long as they can survive, everything is feasible. If we do not help them, will there still be a Liangshan Tribe after this winter season?
No, there won’t be!
And if they join our tribe, they will have sturdy warm houses to live in, enough food, and a safe wall to fend off beasts. If it were you, would you join or not?"
"But this..." Ge Xing still seemed hesitant.
Ji Nuan smiled, "Of course, we can’t propose this directly. We bring our tribespeople to rescue the Liangshan Tribe and bring them to our tribe. We provide them with warm houses. After a period of time, we can subtly inquire about their plans for moving out for the winter season.
We must make it clear to our tribespeople that the Liangshan Tribe is not part of our tribe, and we cannot discuss building houses and brick beds."
The old Shaman’s eyes glowed brilliantly, "Once they get accustomed to the warm and comfortable houses, once they get used to sleeping on the warm brick bed, let’s see if they are still willing to go back to their dark, freezing caves."
Ji Nuan nodded with a smile, that was exactly her point.
Chief Ge Xing quickly caught on and heartily complimented Ji Nuan’s craftiness, and the chubby cub "roared" as if it were singing her praises.
Setting aside Ji Nuan’s series of plans for incorporating the Liangshan Tribe, on the other side, Fu Yi and Chief Ped came across a set of brand-new houses and finally arrived at Ji Nuan’s home.
They entered a guest room on the left, lit a torch, illuminating the house instantly, the room was empty except for a cold brick bed.
Fu Yi lit the fire in the small partitioned stove, and filled it with a pot of water. As the flames burned, the brick bed gradually warmed up.
Chief Ped and his animals stood dumbfounded inside the house, dazzled by Fu Yi’s series of operations, their eyes full of amazement.
(A series of operations so swift, amazed the four simpletons.)
It wasn’t until Fu Yi brought in a stack of beast skins that they snapped back to reality. They quickly stepped forward to help, as they had seen the brick bed in Aunt Shaman’s house before, and knew that these beast skins were for covering the bed. They cooperated with each other, and in no time at all, they had covered the large brick bed with a layer of beast skin.
"Oh yes, Chief Ped, could you come over here." Fu Yi turned and walked towards the small partition.
Chief Ped followed Fu Yi a little awkwardly, watching him scoop out lots of steaming water from the pot above the fire and pour it into a deep stone trough, then bring in some snow from outside and dump it in.
"The water temperature is just right, you can take a bath before sleeping, and you’ll feel much more comfortable. After you’re done, pull out the plug under this bathtub, and the water will drain out on its own. Remember to fill the pot after changing the water.
Just add a couple of pieces of firewood before you go to bed."
Chief Ped and his animals obediently nodded in unison, indicating they understood.
"Ah! Right!" He slapped his forehead, and Fu Yi turned and ran out.
