Chapter 230: Chapter 229, Crisis Preparation_1
The fear was evident on her face. "The Liangshan Tribe’s territory had a large and deep crack formed, and many of the Liangshan Tribe’s orcs fell in; they were never seen again. Because of this, the Liangshan Tribe gradually waned."
After speaking, she looked towards Ge Xing and Ji Nuan, "Just like you said, all the prey disappeared before that earthquake. Even birds and insects vanished, and then the terrible disaster occurred."
As expected, Ji Nuan’s heart tightened. Was there a terrifying natural disaster about to happen again?
"Chief, there are a few unfamiliar orcs outside who want to see you," a voice of an orc called out from outside the tent.
Chief Ge Xing wiped his face, "I’ll see who is it first, let’s discuss later. We need to prepare quickly."
Ji Nuan and the Shaman nodded, watching Chief Ge Xing’s figure disappear into the distance.
"Do any of them look familiar?" Chief Ge Xing asked as he walked.
The orc tilted his head to think a bit, his eyes lit up, "Right, there’s an orc from the Grey Bear Clan, the one who last time said you don’t embrace your orcish side..."
Chief Ge Xing glared at the orc beside him, dark-faced, "Am I that type of orc to you?"
The orc’s skin tightened, he immediately replied, "Of course not!" Crazy!
Satisfied, Ge Xing nodded, then head for the tribe’s entrance, wondering if the naive bear had arrived.
The Gray Bear Tribal Chief, along with a group of cubs, was looking at the mountain-like structure built by the Watson Tribe with sparkling eyes. The green "stone" radiated a beautiful glow in the sunlight, looking even better than the fangs of any wild beast. If they took some back to the females in the tribe, it would definitely be very popular.
"Haha, as expected, it was you, you naive bear! I didn’t expect us to meet again!"
Bear Da straightened up and snorted, "You didn’t bother looking for me all this time, so I had to come myself!"
Ge Xing burst out laughing, rushing over to warmly embrace his old friend. While Bear Da looked glum, the excitement in his eyes was very real.
"Good timing. There’s something I wanted to ask an indigenous beast like you about!" Ge Xing put his arm around Bear Da’s shoulder, leading him into the tribe.
Bear Da looked at Ge Xing, puzzled. "What problem could possibly stump you?"
Ge Xing grinned, "I’m not Lord Beast God, am I? Hehe!"
Then, his face suddenly turned serious, "Today, our hunting team went hunting and found that there was not a single wild beast in the forest. Has something like this ever happened to you before?"
Bear Da nodded, "It has happened in the tribe before. One time was during an earthquake, which happened when I was still a cub. The other incident was during a massive animal tide! That is a tale passed down from generation to generation by the elders in our tribe. I have never personally experienced it."
"A massive beast tide?" Ge Xing was very surprised; this was the first time he had heard about it.
Bear Da nodded, "The elder orcs say that during particularly harsh winters or extended periods of rain when there is not enough food, a huge beast tide occurs. All of the ferocious beasts in the Eneru Mountain would rush out and attack the orc tribes. The elder orcs talk of a big beast tide after which many tribes disappeared."
Upon hearing this, Ge Xing’s eyes darkened. Thinking about the prolonged winter and the unusual activity of the ferocious beasts upstream in the forest, his heart tightened instantly. "It seems we’re about to face a beast tide, and it won’t be too far off. We must quickly return to prepare."
