Chapter 225: Chapter 224, Arrival _1
Bosson gave Norwe a glance filled with deep meaning, its coldness causing Norwe to shudder involuntarily. ’What’s going on?’ he wondered, feeling a shiver of fear run through him. He had only stolen food from Little Pipi, not Bosson. Yet, Bosson was looking at him as if he had committed a grave offense. He was scared to death and began to tremble.
Elsewhere, Qi Mo cradled a small furball while perched on the back of a Tiger Orc. She kept stroking the fluffy furball while they all journeyed towards their new home. It was a most satisfying experience, barring slight discomfort due to chafing.
Ever since he accepted Qi Mo’s confession of love, Fu Yi felt increasingly smothered. She would squeeze his body, and he truly wanted to ask Qi Qi: ’Do you see me as an Orc? Or do you see me as your little pet?’
The Orcs traveled energetically, not perturbed by the darkness of the nighttime. They ran at a breakneck pace, as if they were moving on an even terrain.
The night wind was still somewhat chilly. The females tightly wrapped their beast skin and straw mats around them but could still feel a sliver of cold seeping in.
The cubs, sprawled out as they slept, drooling here and there, occasionally smacked their lips as if they were dreaming about delicious food.
"Oh my! The Beast God is angry!" A plaintive cry shattered the quiet night, causing the migrating army to halt in their tracks and look towards the origin of the outcry.
An elderly female was sobbing hysterically, kneeling on the cold ground. She gave out hoarseal growls. Before her lay a broken porcelain jar from which a few glowing embers were flickering in the darkness...
From within the group of beasts came a murmured whisper: "The Fire Seed’s gone out..."
"The Fire Seed’s gone out..."
"Dear Beast God! The Fire Seed’s gone out, what do we do now..."
Immediately, there was a cacophony within the group, and an aura of unrest started to spread.
Chief Ge Xing and Ji Nuan hurried up from the front. Hearing the discussions among the members, Ji Nuan looked a little serious. The Fire Seed wasn’t an issue but it was crucial to reassure the Tribe members to avoid negative influences on the migration.
Ji Nuan quickly dismounted from Xiu Yan’s back and rushed to Red Grandma’s side, helping the old woman, still weeping on her knees, up: "Red Grandma, I’m sorry. I arrived too late."
Ji Nuan spoke apologetically, which puzzled the tribe members around her. Red Grandma, too, looked at her with swollen, questioning eyes.
Ji Nuan said, "Grandma Shaman just received a prophecy from the Lord Beast God, who said that he would temporarily withdraw the Fire Seed and give it back to us after we reach the new territory. Before I could inform you about it, the Lord Beast God..."
A liveliness returned to Red Grandma’s eyes. Clasping Ji Nuan’s arm tightly, she looked at her hopefully, and asked, "Ji Nuan cub, did the Lord Beast God really give such a prophecy?"
Ji Nuan nodded, "Truly."
Red Grandma and the Orcs immediately felt relieved. They prepared themselves once more and resumed their journey.
Later, when Ji Nuan relayed this incident to Grandma Shaman, she merely smiled mysteriously and said, "You’re the future Shaman. Sometimes you too can receive prophecies from the Lord Beast God."
By noon the next day, the Watson Tribe finally arrived at their new territory.
Standing in the vast expanse of the plains, the Orcs scanned the surroundings with surprise, glancing at each other with a flicker of unease.
Could such a plain really provide enough game to feed the entire Tribe?
Did this place have any game at all?
Meanwhile, our Ji Nuan was perched on Xiu Yan’s back, overlooking the plains, her heart filled with excitement.
