Chapter 293: Chapter 292, Overstep Hunting_1
"Lei Erl, there’s a great big elk!" The excited voice of an Orc resounded through the forest, earning him a slap from his companion.
"Are you daft? Yelling so loudly, the elk has long since ran off."
All the Orcs: You two idiots, couldn’t you keep your voices down?
Under the disdainful gazes of their fellow tribesmen, the two Orcs finally hung their heads in embarrassment.
Lei Erl’s eyelids twitched, he resisted the urge to rage at the two foolish Orcs and rallied the tribe to resume the hunt.
This time, the Orcs were generally more composed. They quietly surrounded their prey before pouncing and swiftly taking them down.
After an entire afternoon, the hunting squad only managed to secure two large elks and one yellow goat-like beast. The rest of their efforts amounted to nothing. With a helpless sigh, Lei Erl called it a day and began leading the squad back to their tribe.
"Humph, we’ve been waiting for you. Which tribe are you from? Why did you dare to hunt on our Dashi tribe’s territory?" The Orcs were still in the forest when they were confronted by a gang of strangers with stone weapons, blocking their path.
The strangers’ faces darkened upon seeing the game on the Orcs’ shoulders.
Lei Erl raised an eyebrow and smirked nonchalantly, "We had no idea that this is the Dashi Tribe’s territory, there are no markings."
The stranger who appeared to be their leader snorted coldly, "It’s pointless to argue, leave your game here and get back to your tribe, or else..."
Lei Erl laughed at the blatant threat, his golden eyes narrowed dangerously, "Or else? Or else what? Are you going to kill us?"
The leader’s face contorted violently at Lei Erl’s defiant stance.
An Orc next to him tugged at his beast skin garment, whispering, "Brother, let it go. The Clan Leader has already said, every tribe is having a hard time with the beasts destroying the forest and game yet to return. There’s no need to be so hostile."
But the Orc leader shrugged him off and growled, "This is our tribe’s territory, we can’t allow other tribes’ Orcs to plunder our food."
He turned his gaze back to Lei Erl, "Put down your game and leave with your tribesmen, or die here today!"
Lei smiled sarcastically and his face turned cold, "If you want our game, come and get it yourself. Let’s see if you have the guts to steal from me, Lei Erl."
The Orcs of the Watson Tribe, listening to their leader’s words, dropped their game onto the ground, stood their ground and glared fiercely, their eyes colliding mid-air.
The atmosphere in the forest instantly became tense.
The leader’s face contorted again at this hardline stance, yelling to his fellow Orcs, "What are you waiting for, tribesmen, drive these food stealers out of our territory!"
With that, he transformed into a huge white fox and launched himself at Lei Erl, with the other Orcs following him, charging fiercely at the Orcs of the Watson Tribe.
The white fox lunged and swiped at Lei Erl with its sharp claws. Lei Erl leapt backwards, only to see a quick white object flying towards him, aiming directly for his face...
