Chapter 280: Chapter 279, Old Shaman_1
The elderly shaman, supported by two orcs, hurriedly arrived at the cave of the Dashi Tribal Chief.
"Oh, my Beast God! These two brats have worn out my old bones." The shaman, placed on a beast skin pad, had a look of unbearable exhaustion.
The two young orcs glanced nervously at the old shaman from time to time.
"What’s all this hurry about bringing me here? You all said the Tribal Chief was unwell. Where’s Shi Jie? Where is he? What happened?" The old shaman appeared to have regained his composure as he began to search for the reportedly unwell Shi Jie. There was only a strange orc in the cave and no sign of Shi Jie.
Upon hearing the old shaman’s call, Shi Jie and Xiong Da spat out their last bite of food and stumbled back into the cave, supporting each other.
The old shaman looked at the listless orcs and his eyes bulged in alarm: "What has happened? What is wrong? Have you eaten something unclean?"
The old orc riddled them with questions, making Shi Jie and Xiong Da blush.
Stammering, Shi Jie explained, "Nothing’s wrong. Just talked about some disgusting stuff, couldn’t handle it...had to throw up a bit."
Upon hearing this, the old shaman’s face turned from concern to scorn, "You’re the Tribal Chief, and you wasted precious food over nothing!"
At this, Shi Jie and Xiong Da felt sick again, turning their heads to look at the instigator of it all, Ge Xing.
Ge Xing shrugged innocently. "Don’t blame me. I was only trying to help by telling you. Otherwise, wouldn’t it be better if I let the parasites sicken your tribe’s orcs and then ask for our medicine?"
The old shaman, who didn’t know the backstory, was offended. He huffily stood up and pointed toward the cave entrance, "Our tribe dislikes malicious orcs like you. Get out!"
Shi Jie and Xiong Da quickly stepped forward to pull the old shaman aside, "Uncle Shaman. Ge Xing was only telling us it was raw meat that caused our stomach ache. He meant well."
Upon hearing this, the old shaman, previously feeble, darted back into the cave with newfound strength. With a gratifying smile, he sat next to Ge Xing.
"Which tribe do you belong to?", the old shaman asked kindly.
Ge Xing bowed respectfully, "I’m Chief Ge Xing from the Watson Tribe."
After pondering for a moment, a look of shock crossed the old Shaman’s face. "Was it your tribe that traded the medicine for curing parasites at the last tribal gathering?"
Ge Xing didn’t hide the fact, "Yes, it was our tribe that exchanged the medicine."
The old shaman said emotionally, "Your tribe’s shaman is indeed a great one. He has actually created a medicine capable of curing parasites!"
Praise was evident in his tone.
Ge Xing nodded with a look of pride.
The two orcs chatted excitedly, ignoring the presence of Shi Jie and Xiong Da.
Shi Jie, knowing his own shaman had a fanatic obsession with medicinal herbs, feared that without intervention, they could talk for days.
Shi Jie forced himself into the conversation, braving Uncle Shaman’s disdainful gaze, and delicately said, "Uncle Shaman, Chief Ge Xing came to discuss some important matters."
