Chapter 86: Chapter 82, The Matter of the Purple Fruit_1
"Anuan, do you want to go with us to collect some purple fruits?" Ge Ye barged into the cave like a cannonball, pulling Ji Nuan out of the meat heap.
Lifting her hands covered in salt, Ji Nuan’s face was full of helplessness: "I say, missy, can you slow down a bit?"
Looking at Ji Nuan’s raised hand covered in grime, Ge Ye stuck out her tongue playfully: "Hehe~ let’s go! Purple fruits are about to fall! If they fall on the ground, they’ll crack open and we won’t be able to use them to decorate the cave!"
At this, Ji Nuan slapped herself on the head, leaving a greasy handprint on her forehead which looked quite comical.
How could she forget such an important thing as the purple fruits? She really had the brain of a Humming Beast!
Ge Ye grabbed Ji Nuan’s greasy hand: "What are you doing? Why are you hitting yourself?"
Ji Nuan was too anxious to answer her question, and hurriedly asked: "Where are Chief Ge Xing and Aunt Shaman?"
Although Ge Ye usually seemed carefree, she knew how to prioritize. Seeing Ji Nuan’s anxious face, she hurriedly said: "My father is in the tribe’s open area, Aunt Shaman is in the Food Storage Cave."
Ji Nuan grabbed her hand: "Little Ye Zi, can you help me invite the Clan Leader and the Shaman to my cave? I have something important to discuss with them."
Ge Ye nodded enthusiastically, scampered off, jumped on the back of her partner, and quickly went to fetch them.
Ji Nuan quickly lit her little stove and hoisted up the half pot of leftover meat porridge from the day before.
Not sure what Ge Ye said, but in less than five minutes, the mobility-impaired Chief Ge Xing and the elderly Aunt Shaman arrived at Ji Nuan’s cave, each carried by an Orc, looking frantic.
"What’s the matter? Little cub Ji Nuan, Ge Ye just ran over saying you were crying!" Their caring gazes fixed on her.
With a twitch at the corner of her mouth, Ji Nuan looked at Ge Ye poking her head into the cave. When their eyes met, Ge Ye even had the audacity to give her a triumphant look.
Ji Nuan spread a beast skin on the ground, inviting the two elders to sit. Only then did she beckon Ge Ye to come in as well.
Uncovering the lid of the ceramic pot, the rich aroma of the rice porridge filled the cave.
The three Wikas took their amazed gazes from the ceramic pot, staring at the food in the pot that was wafting an enticing aroma, as they swallowed visibly.
Aunt Shaman’s eyes sparked, looking at Ji Nuan with excitement: "Little cub Ji Nuan, is this... is this a new food?"
Ji Nuan smiled and nodded, turned around to get five medium-sized ceramic bowls, ladled the meat porridge into them, and served it to the five orcs present.
The thick rice porridge mixed with the tenderly cooked Giggle Beast meat, contrasting sweet and savory to create an extremely delicious concoction.
Watching them wolf it down.
Only then did Ji Nuan open her mouth: "Aunt Shaman, Uncle Clan Leader, the food just now was made from purple fruits."
Ge Ye’s round eyes suddenly went wide: "Was it the purple fruit I brought you last time?"
Ji Nuan smiled and nodded: "Yes, you said that birds and beasts eat it. So, I thought it shouldn’t be poisonous and put it in the pot to cook. I didn’t expect the cooked food to taste so good and be so filling. The past few days, I’ve been distracted by curing the meat, if it weren’t for Little Ye Zi mentioning that the purple fruit was about to fall, I would have forgotten about such an important thing."
The old face of Chief Ge Xing turned red with excitement, and he commanded two Orcs admiring the pot: "You two, go call Lei Yun and Lei Er to come here, they are just in the Tribe processing the prey today."
The two Orcs reluctantly retracted their gazes from the pot and ran off under the contemptuous gaze of the Clan Leader, their faces streaming with tears.
Aunt Shaman’s wrinkled old face blossomed into happiness, her gaze towards Ji Nuan even more approving.
Truly, the Beast God blesses. The tribe now has such a blessed Shaman, why worry about the tribe not thriving? She just wished she could live to see that day.
"Father, father! Let Song Yu go too, he was the one who brought back the purple fruits for Anuan!" Ge Ye excitedly shook her father’s arm.
Chief Ge Xing shot her a glare and waved his hand dismissively: "Go, go tell him to go with Lei Yun later."
"Oh oh! Father, you’re so nice~ Anuan, I’m going to call Song Yu!" Saying this, she happily bounced up from the beast skin and rushed out of the cave. Her merry little figure quickly clambered up to the back of her partner and soon disappeared from their line of sight.
