Chapter 248: Chapter 247: Bustling Scenery_1
Lei Er stared at Ying Da for quite a while without blinking. It was only when sweat started to bead on the orc’s face that he turned and walked into a tent.
In no time, a disheveled old orc came yawning out of the tent, "What’s all the fuss about! It’s so late. Why aren’t you sleeping? Aren’t you tired?"
Chief Ge Xing said this while straightening his hair, sleepiness evident in his voice.
Lei Er twitched his lips, "The eagle orc who was just here said that the clan leader of the Gray Bear Tribe, Bear Da, asked him to come find you."
"Huh?" Ge Xing’s eyes, which were still smeared with some mystery, were now widening in surprise as he looked at the eagle orc who was bound tightly to a tree trunk.
"What does Bear Da want with me?"
Ying Da looked at the slightly unkempt old orc. Though doubt lingered in his eyes, he decided to confess honestly upon seeing the tall orc with golden hair and eyes standing behind him: "Clan Leader Bear Da sent me to check if the Watson Tribe still existed. He didn’t say anything else."
Ge Xing nodded in understanding. Letting out a stretch, he walked towards his tent, "Take him to your tent to rest, feed him something, and let him leave tomorrow."
Lei Er pointed at the pitiful-looking eagle orc: "Would we just let him go like that?"
Chief Ge Xing turned back irritably, "What would you keep him for? We can’t eat him. Are we supposed to waste our food on him!"
After thinking for a moment, Lei Er agreed - it was unfair to keep feeding him. It didn’t make sense."
Ying Da was flabbergasted by their candid conversation: "Is it really okay for you two to disrespect me like that right in front of me?"
The next day, Ying Da woke to a commotion, with sunlight streaming in through a small gap in the tent curtain. In contrast to the silence of the night, the tribe was bustling during the day.
The various noises and laughter outside made Ying Da feel like he was back to the time before the beasts overwhelmed them.
Ying Da within minutes rose from the beast skin and stretched luxuriously, he hadn’t had a decent sleep in a long time.
Upon lifting the beast skin curtain, warm sunlight danced on his face. The bustling orcs and the females busy around the stone pot made Ying Da feel a bit dazed.
He wondered why so many tribes were destroyed by the onslaught of beasts, but this small tribe that reportedly migrated from upstream and lived on the plains seemed to be unaffected.
"Little Ye Zi, Ying Yan and others caught a fierce beast today. We’re dealing with it now. Could you ask Ji Nuan if we can save some of this for tomorrow, we want to eat delicious fish meat!" A tall orc ingratiatingly coaxed a chubby little female.
But to his surprise, a round-eyed little female stood next to him and shouted in a certain direction, "Ji Nuan, a beast is being picky! It wants fish instead of meat!"
Ying Da then saw the orc’s face change instantly, and he took off running as if being chased by a pack of beasts.
A delicate little female came out of the tent, her large clear eyes filled with mirth as she watched the scene, "Qi Qi, you’re too naughty! Look how scared he is, hahaha!"
The other little females by the pot also burst into laughter, making the scene incredibly cheerful.
Ji Nuan’s gaze shifted, landing on a thin orc who was blankly standing by Lei Er’s tent.
