Chapter 246: Chapter 245, A Shocking Appearance_1
The midday sun was unusually blinding. It was unclear why, but this year’s hot season seemed to be particularly fierce, with the weather getting hotter by the day.
Ying Da transformed back into his beast form, first flew around the periphery of the forest to observe the dynamics of the Beast Wave, then headed towards the flatland that Chief Xiu Yan had mentioned.
The grass on the flatlands had turned green, but the plains that should have been full of small prey at this time of year was extremely quiet. The only sound was the soft rustling of the breeze. There was no sight of a single beast.
This sudden silence made him want to turn back to the tribe. If what Chief Xiu Yan said about the existence of the Watson tribe and the surviving beasts were true, then, this area couldn’t possibly be devoid of a single beast. He knew how ravenous those damned beasts were, they wouldn’t pass up on any bit of food.
Ying Da, looking around leisurely, didn’t notice the tall, stern-looking orc silently following him from behind, wings flapping noiselessly.
As Ying Da casually scanned the surroundings, he almost fell out of the sky from shock when he saw what looked like a mountain range encircling half of the flatlands.
"My Beast God! What on earth is this? Could it be a beast more ferocious than a Beast Wave?" Ying Da muttered to himself.
No wonder there were no beasts here. It was because of the presence of such a terrifying beast.
Other than the frightening "Giant Beast", which was massively intimidating, Ying Da saw no traces of any orcs or tribal presence.
He quietly backed off a bit, guessing the damned Watson tribe had been eaten by this "Giant Beast". He’d better keep his distance, lest he lead this beast back to their settlement.
With that thought, Ying Da turned to leave. But before he could make his move, he suddenly felt a severe pain on his neck and blacked out.
Xiu Yan reached out and grabbed one of the Eagle Orc’s legs, carrying him upside down as he headed back to the tribe.
Following this fellow all the way, he would take him back for questioning.
He waited at the same spot for a while longer before he saw three Eagle Orcs flying towards him, panting heavily as they carried two enormous beast carcasses.
Xiu Yan curled his lip, "You guys are too weak. If you don’t go hunting, you can’t even keep up with the strength to carry prey. You have to train harder in the future." After saying this, he fluttered his wings and flew onward.
The three Eagle Orcs shared a glance of mutual understanding, a smidgen of resentment in their eyes as they watched Xiu Yan fly away effortlessly carrying Ying Da.
They thought resentfully: Of course you’re at ease, carrying a skinny beast whose bones can be seen! We’re lugging around...
Looking at the hefty beasts they were carrying, the three orcs held back tears: It was ridiculously heavy!
Upon returning to the tribe, the four of them received a passionate welcome from their tribespeople. The hard journey and grievances experienced by the three Eagle Orcs instantly dissolved under the adoration-filled gazes of the female orcs.
They felt incredibly pleased!
Ignoring the three foolish beasts losing themselves in the adoring attention, Xiu Yan carrying Ying Da came to the outside of Chief Ge Xing’s tent. Tossing Ying Da carelessly onto the ground, he called out, "Chief Uncle, I caught a spy outside the tribe!"
"What? A spy?" Stuffing his mouth full of dried fruits, Chief Ge Xing came running out from his tent, looking curiously at Xiu Yan.
Xiu Yan briefly twitched his mouth towards Ge Xing and said, "I suspect all the tribe’s food has been eaten by you."
