Chapter 117: Chapter 113: Making a Sensation_1
Ge Xing and Ji Nuan’s conversation sent massive reverberations through the beastmen crowd. Even Lu Te, who had been grinning ear to ear while watching the spectacle, abruptly switched to his beastman form and hurried over.
"You’re telling me this little girl here can make a cure for bug disease? Are you fooling us?" Even though he voiced his doubts, his eyes, fixated on Ji Nuan, had a greedy gleam - as if he wanted to swallow her whole.
Ge Xing stepped in between Ji Nuan and Lu Te, his gaze towards Lu Te held nothing but contempt: "We’re not trading it with you Tumang Tribe, so believe it or not!"
Trade?
The surrounding beastmen, who had crowded around to watch the spectacle, had their eyes light up immediately. From what the Clan Leader GeXing said, is the cure for bug disease going to be traded in the upcoming tribal gathering?
At this point, no beastman cared about the weaker people anymore. They eagerly inquired about trading for the cure: "Clan Leader Ge Xing? How can we trade for the cure? What items do we need to bring for the trade?"
Ge Xing’s smile was full of smugness, his eyes held a glint of mischief: "We’ll trade the powder in a few days at our base. Tribes in need can come to exchange, the specific rules will be announced the day before."
Having said this, he completely ignored the offended Lu Te, turned around, dragged Chief Tu Ben along with him, and followed by members of the Rabbit Tribe, headed to Watson Tribe’s dwelling place.
The guard beasts were somewhat confused when they saw their leader return with such a large group of weaker people. What on earth happened?
"Uncle Tu Ben, I like this cub, I want to go to the Watson Tribe!"
Suddenly, a soft little voice interrupted Chief Tu Ben’s reverie. It was Tu Yaoyao, hiding behind her mother. Her big beautiful eyes were full of affection for Ji Nuan.
The successfully domesticated cub in Ji Nuan’s arms narrowed its eyes in suspicion.
Chief Tu Ben looked nervously at Clan Leader Ge Xing: "Is... Is this true? Are you truly allowing us to join the Watson Tribe?"
The rabbit beastmen behind him also looked at Ge Xing and Ji Nuan with hopeful eyes.
Ge Xing didn’t know Ji Nuan’s true intentions. He brought the Rabbit tribesmen back to their base intending to explain things clearly somewhere safe.
Ji Nuan tugged on Ge Xing’s beast skin, signaling him to stay quiet. Then, she turned to Chief Tu Ben and said: "You and your clansmen wait here for a bit. I need to discuss something with Uncle Ge. We will arrange your living quarters when we return."
Although Ji Nuan didn’t explicitly say they could join the Watson Tribe, her mention of their future living accommodations made the rabbit beastmen tear up with joy. This felt similar to be being accepted into the tribe!
They quickly nodded in agreement.
Ji Nuan led Uncle Ge Xing to her tent. She took two bowls of hot porridge from Fu Yi and passed one to Clan Leader Ge Xing. Then she spoke: "Uncle Ge Xing, our tribe now needs many, many beastmen, including those weaker ones outside."
Ge Xing took a hearty sip of the scalding porridge and looked at Ji Nuan in confusion: "The hunting ability of weaker beastmen are poor. They contribute very little to the tribe. Accepting them is like accepting a burden."
Hearing this, Ji Nuan chuckled mysteriously: "Uncle Ge Xing, our porridge today contains the crispy sweet fruit I traded from the Gray Bear Orc. Do we have that fruit in our territory?"
Ge Xing thought about it and nodded: "We do, but it’s very few and widely dispersed."
