Chapter 164: Chapter 164, Danger_1
Dena’s heart tightened, her dry trembling hand cautiously feeling the emaciated arm and face, the mouth full of whiskers above the lips...
She couldn’t feel any breath, the pupil in the darkness contracted. Dena’s big leaf in her hand shivered, almost fell to the ground, the Shaman was dead...
"Amu, is Uncle Shaman okay?"
Dena’s mind was buzzing, and she didn’t hear Percy’s call.
"Amu? Amu?" Percy raised his voice and called two more times, finally waking Dena up.
Wiping the tears from her face and trying to control her inner pain, she turned to look towards the location where her cub’s voice came from: "What happened, Percy?"
"Is Uncle Shaman okay?"
Forcing a smile, Dena chuckled, "He’s much better. He just drank all the water! Don’t worry!"
Percy sighed in relief. At this time, if something happens to Uncle Shaman again, the tribesmen would panic.
"Boom! Boom!"
"Ah!"
Around the cave, another round of pounding began. The Orcs stood behind the boulder, ready to fight to the death to protect the females and cubs.
The females held their cubs tightly in their arms, trembling in fear as they huddled together.
As night fell, the tribe became silent. Outside the cave, a pair of green eyes shone with a cold light, staring at the boulder that had been blocking their way for days.
The sound of heavy breathing was incredibly clear in this silent night. Keeping watch, the Orcs glanced at each other, then woke the resting Orcs.
Percy gritted his teeth, hating these damned beasts. It would seem there would be no rest for them tonight.
"Roar! Roar!"
Mighty roars from the beasts outside the cave were followed by the thunderous sounds of the cave being hit. In the dark, the Orcs’ eyes filled with grave concern as more and more cracks appeared in the boulder.
...
"We’re almost there." Ped’s voice was filled with an unspeakable sense of anticipation and worry.
His limbs moving rapidly, wishing he could reach the tribe in an instant.
Sensing their urgent concern, the Orcs quickened their pace. The loud rumble from their running made the surrounding beasts retreat.
...
"Crack~ Crack~" The sound of the slowly splitting rock stood out starkly in the quiet cave. The hearts of the Liangshan tribesmen were akin to the boulder blocking the cave’s entrance, slowly splitting open with fear.
"Orcs, the stone can’t hold up any longer. Prepare your claws. As soon as it breaks, follow me and rush out, kill these damned beasts," Percy growled with bloodshot eyes.
"Roar!" The Orcs growled back. Each of them had bloodshot eyes, their gaze towards the boulder was as sharp as a sword.
Percy turned to the watch-keeping Orcs behind him: "When we rush out, you guys should move the prepared stone from the side to block the cave, and do not let the females and cubs get into any danger, understand?"
Percy’s voice echoed in the cave. A few Orcs choked back sobs and nodded, and the females’ cries filled the cave.
"Boom!" The boulder finally couldn’t hold up for long, and shattered under the impact of the beasts. Percy rushed out first, swiping his claw at the beast in front, drawing a curtain of blood mist.
The Orcs behind him roared and charged at the other beasts.
The watch-keeping Orcs quickly ran to one side, trying to move another boulder towards the cave entrance.
