Chapter 102: Chapter 98, Xiu Yan’s Beast Reputation_1
A look of pride and satisfaction filled Uncle Ge Xing’s aged face: "Yes, we go. Our orc tribesmen are just ahead, let me show you."
Having said that, he tugged at Sakar, who was still eyeing Ji Nuan, and headed towards the nearby riverbank where the tribesmen were gathered.
Ji Nuan shook her head helplessly. Uncle Ge Xing completely disregarded her, an injured person, once he met an old friend. Not cool!
"Ji Nuan, let me help you over there!" The fluffy little ball of fur, Fu Yi, who was just next to her, has transformed into a towering orc, extending his hand to her somewhat shyly.
Ji Nuan nodded gently and extended her hand toward the orc. Just as their hands were set to touch, they were intercepted by a slender, fair hand that suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
Ji Nuan was swept off her feet and in an instant, she was in a chilly embrace. Looking up, she saw the Silver Wolf Orc, whose expression was quite sour, releasing cold air towards Fu Yi.
Giving the bright-faced Lightning Mink a chilly glare, Xiu Yan held the alluring little cub tighter, turned around and headed towards the river.
Fu Yi retracted his arm, scratching his head in confusion. What’s wrong with Brother Xiu Yan? He seems in a bad mood. Was he still not healed from his injuries?
Failing to figure it out after a long thought, Fu Yi gave up thinking altogether, turned back into a fluffy little bundle, and bounced after the other two beasts.
Long after the three beasts were gone, a gentle breeze swept through the forest, lifting fallen leaves and scattering them again to other places.
A slightly tender big hand picked up a fallen leaf from the ground. With a light squeeze, the leaf was turned to dust.
"Hehe~" The youthful laughter was carried away by the breeze, fading into silence, unheard by the orcs.
Xiu Yan’s eyes narrowed sharply; he cast a cold, murderous glance in the direction of the forest, only to see leaves falling while being blown by the wind.
Xiu Yan frowned slightly, murmuring to himself: "Did I hear it wrong?"
Just now it seemed like a very familiar voice had come from the edge of the forest, but when he turned around, he saw nothing.
Feeling somewhat alarmed, he continued towards the river.
"Here, here, here, Xiu Yan cub." The excited voice of Uncle Ge Xing rang out ahead, "Sakar, let me tell you, this is Xiu Li’s boy, Xiu Yan. He’s one of the most powerful orcs in our tribe!"
Sakar stepped forward and clapped Xiu Yan’s back: "Haha, what a good beast, even stronger than his old man, haha."
Xiu Yan just raised an eyebrow and nodded to Sakar, then, holding Ji Nuan, sat down on a beast skin spread out on one side.
Sakar’s eyes shifted, and somewhat lasciviously, he followed and squatted next to the Beast Skin with a big smile on his face.
His gaze on Ji Nuan was bright, as if he had found a treasure: "Ji Nuan, my clan and your ancestors are sisters. Our two tribes have always maintained close relations. Could you share with us the method to cross the river safely?"
Saying this, he twiddled his hands with expectation, anticipating her response.
Uncle Ge Xing too was looking rather tensely at the quietly seated Ji Nuan.
Seeing the two elders creating such a fuss, Ji Nuan couldn’t help but laugh and said, "I don’t mind sharing. We are all children of Beast God. As long as Chief Ge Xing agrees, I can surely share it with your tribe."
The two orcs were ecstatic. Sakar thanked Ji Nuan solemnly, then, Chief Ge Xing pulled him aside for a private chat.
"Xiu Yan!" A warm masculine voice next to Ji Nuan echoed around, turning to see it was a tall, blonde orc with a bright face that looked a little similar to Ge Tai, especially his eyes which always seemed to hold the warmth of the sun.
Seeing his name called by a stranger, Xiu Yan gave a puzzled look.
The blonde orc’s eyes twinkled, "I’m Samuel, the son of Chief Sakar from the Green Mountain Tribe, and the apprentice of the tribe’s Shaman.
We used to play together when we were little. My sister and I lived in the Watson Tribe for a year. When you were young, didn’t you say that when you grew up you would become my sister’s companion?"
What!!!
Where the hell did this demon come from, spreading lies and damaging my reputation?
Feeling the creeping gaze from his side, Xiu Yan felt a chill run down his back and start to break out in a cold sweat!
