Chapter 194: Chapter 193, Gathering_1
Grandma Shaman lifted her eyelids: "If you’re so capable, why don’t you go catch him, instead of wasting your breath here!"
Stifled by his own sister, Shaman Benny blurted out a couple of noises, swallowing the rest of his words. He obediently sat there without uttering another word.
"Everyone, go back. I’m starting to feel tired and I want to rest." She waved her hand, Grandma Shaman’s tone revealing deep fatigue.
The crowd of orcs exchanged glances for a moment, and eventually, they all dispersed and let out a sigh.
"Did Xiu Yan come back?" After the orcs left, all traces of fatigue vanished from Grandma Shaman. Seizing a handful of dried fruits, she stuffed them into her mouth before asking with her mouth full.
Chief Ge Xing, while drooling, stole a piece of jerked meat under Grandma Shaman’s watchful eye. Chewing on the delightful meat, he mumbled, "Don’t worry, Lu Shi hasn’t found Xiu Yan yet. Besides, the Silver Wolf Clan is a beloved child of the winter season. With Xiu Yan leading the way, nothing will happen to little Ji Nuan."
Knowing that she was worried about Ji Nuan, Chief Ge Xing tactfully reassured her.
His sycophantic behavior was almost unbearable to look at.
Grandma Shaman extended her dry, wrinkled foot and kicked Ge Xing’s thieving hand, which was reaching for more jerked meat. "Get out! You eat so much, just like a Humming Beast." she growled.
Ge Xing: It hurts, Shaman, I grew up under your care, how can you be so stingy towards me too?

"Brother Xiu Yan, we won’t get caught, right?" Ji Nuan whispered into the ear of the Silver Wolf Orc as she lay on his back.
A hint of amusement flickered in Xiu Yan’s wolf-like eyes. He gently nuzzled his huge wolf head against Ji Nuan’s tender, creamy leg to calm her nerves.
"Lu Shi, what brings you here?" Inside a disorganized cave within the valley emanating a foul smell, around a dozen orcs either sat or stood around in surprise at the unexpected appearance of Lu Shi at the cave entrance.
Lu Shi paid no heed to the orc who spoke, striding directly towards the deepest part of the cave. Lying there, was a thin, hunched figure - Lu Te.
The tall orc who entered blocked the sunlight from the entrance, casting a shadow on Lu Te’s face. His drooping eyelids revealed a hint of cruelty: "Don’t you know I’m sleeping... Lu Shi?!?"
Startled, Lu Te climbed out from the dry grass nest and walked briskly to Lu Shi. Only after checking him thoroughly for injuries and confident that he was unhurt, Lu Te let out a sigh of relief: "Why have you come at this time? It will be bad if you’re discovered."
Noticing Lu Te’s concern warmed Lu Shi’s heart. He patted his father’s arm and spoke in a rarely gentle tone: "I’m okay, father. I was found, so I had to escape."
"You were discovered? Then what about Ji Nuan?" asked Lu Te.
Lu Shi went into the cave, picked up a bloodied raw piece of meat, and began munching on it nonchalantly: "We can only think of another way. I can’t go back now, if they find me, they’ll kill me."
A trace of disappointment flashed through Lu Te’s eyes, but he comfortingly patted his son’s shoulder: "It’s okay. If worse comes to worse, after the winter we can go back to our original tribe and continue living there."
Lu Shi didn’t respond, instead he kept gnawing on the raw meat in his hand, nodding absent-mindedly.
Xiu Yan, in his giant beast form, was running through the snow, and surprisingly, not a single sound was made. Only the paw prints left behind indicated that a beast had passed by.
