Chapter 247: Chapter 246, Interrogation_1
Struggling to swallow his food, Ge Xing hastily waved his hand, "This was given to me by Little Pipi, not the tribe."
Xiu Yan stared at him with even more disdain, "Just as they say, Uncle Clan Leader, your face is thick indeed. You’re even taking food from a little female."
Ge Xing: ...
This is so hard for me!
With a frustrated glance at the creature that always managed to annoy him, he barked, "What is it? Speak up! I still have to build houses afterwards!"
Xiu Yan pointed behind him, "I saw this orc sneaking around aimlessly on the plain while hunting today, so I captured him. I suspect he was looking for our tribe."
The color drained from Ge Xing’s face as he quickly moved around Xiu Yan and, sure enough, a gaunt eagle beast was lying in pain on the ground.
"Why does he look so uncomfortable? Did you guys fight?" Ge Xing pointed at the orc’s face.
Xiu Yan replied with a blank expression, "No, he’s probably just in pain from being knocked out by me!"
Ge Xing shivered with an apprehensive look on his face, staring at Xiu Yan, "Just a little pain? That creature passed out and is still in such agony. What did you do, almost break his neck?"
Xiu Yan waved impatiently, "Deal with it, I’m heading back."
Without waiting for Ge Xing to respond, he turned and sprinted towards his tent. He’d just seen the little female prepping food, there had to be a portion for him.
Ying Da awoke in brief, alternating waves of chill. The orc’s vision was sharp, so he could see the state of affairs clearly even in the darkness of night.
He seemed to have been captured and brought to a tribe, moreover...
Glancing at the thick vines tied around his body, he made a wry smile.
They sure held him in high regard, binding him with such thick vines.
The orcs in this place lived in makeshift huts scattered around, made of dried grass and beast skins, because he could hear the steady breathing that echoed from inside.
"Hey! You awake?" A lazy voice came from beside him, startling Ying Da.
He looked in the direction of the voice, realizing he couldn’t lift his neck very high, and could only tell that the voice came from above.
"Don’t look, mind your neck. The Clan Leader asked me to keep an eye on you. Best get some rest, we’ll have a proper interrogation tomorrow," Lei Er lazily laid on the trunk, a piece of dried grass in his mouth and his legs propped up.
Ying Da was taken aback, "Is this the Watson Tribe?"
Lei Er sat up, his golden eyes looking at the orc under the tree, "You came here searching for this Watson Tribe?"
Ying Da nodded honestly. In dire times, honesty is the best policy, lest his life be under threat.
Lei Er squinted his eyes, "Then, what are you looking for the Watson Tribe for? Who sent you?"
Ying Da was very honest, "The Chief of the Gray Bear Tribe, Chief Bear, asked me to check out the Watson Tribe on the plains. He knows the Watson Tribe’s Chief."
First, Lei Er threw away the dried grass stem he’d been chewing on, then lept from the tree. Coming over to Ying Da, he bent over to look at the thin eagle orc, "Is that it?"
The doubt in his voice was unmistakable.
Ying Da felt a cold shiver, and quickly spilled it all, "It’s true! Although I’m from the Dashi Tribe, since our four tribes have united, and I’m the only eagle orc, I always get assigned these patrol tasks.
Before leaving this time, Chief Bear asked me to check out the Watson Tribe on the plains. Our Chief Shi Jie even had a quarrel with Chief Bear about this!"
