Chapter 77: Forbidden heat Sparks travelled around her lips as soon as it was covered by Cedric’s lips. She froze stunned by the course of events. Abrielle never expected he would suddenly kiss her in the middle of a conversation when, for the first time, she was talking freely with him without the fear of his snapping out. The sparks jolted in her, it was the first time she felt something so strange and yet so addictive. It made his lips seem addictive, and she knew she had to stop this, but who was she kidding? The moment she pulled away from him, there was this low groan from underneath his breath indicating he was not pleased by her actions. Cedric grabbed her hands and then pushed her against a wall, capturing her lips that loved defying him. Her hands were pinned against the wall as his larger frame trapped her there. She was completely at his mercy, but she didn’t know what she did wrong. Abrielle was saying what every noble wanted, especially someone like Alfonso, who would be more than happy if she told him. Go out and play as much as you want. His lips were like fire and jolts of electricity. He didn’t deepen the kiss but just continued kissing and nibbling her lips. The sensation was so much for her, she forced her mind not to melt but there was only little she could do against him when it seemed he had control of her body against her will. "Cedric," she moaned into his lips completely melting under him. His eyes jolted out as a more maddening hunger took over. He wanted more but knew where things stood between them. She didn’t want anything between them, all he could do was taste and not eat the whole thing. Cedric pulled away, releasing his hold on her hands, and she slipped off, falling against the wall. Her legs had already gone weak from a mere kiss. Her watery blue eyes stared back at him in confusion. She didn’t understand what had just transpired between them. He ran his hand through his long hair, which was now dishevelled with what had just happened here. "Are you injured?" He asked, giving her his hand, she was so tempted to slap it away in anger. Abrielle didn’t know who she should be mad at. She was mad at him for kissing her on short notice but completely furious at herself for almost wanting more when she should avoid him. It made her angry and scared of him, he created this forbidden heat between them that all she could do was press her legs together to control the arousal that ached her there. "I am fine, just need a while to get my thoughts together." She said reluctantly, accepting his hand despite her resistance, scared of him flipping the coin at her. She got back on her feet avoiding to gaze back at his face. Now she understood what he meant by his face got him into a lot of trouble. It should be illegal to be that handsome. He cleared his throat trying to change the awkward atmosphere. His earlier intentions were just to get her to shut up, but it soon turned into a trap against him. Now he ached for her. Why did things have to be so awkward between them? Why was he drawn to someone he should consider his nemesis? "I am tired; I should get some sleep before dawn," Abrielle said, rushing away like she was escaping something worse than death at his hands. It was lust one so bad that it seemed to mess with her head. She quickly got under the covers and wrapped herself into a ball, trying to hide her face that was flushed from anger and embarrassment, but a sly thought whispered into her ears to catch a glimpse of him. The next thing she saw made her regret immediately, he was stripping off his shirt, probably with the intention of changing into something more comfortable, but that was not what left her flabbergasted. It was his lower body that was still covered with the layers of his trousers that had an obvious bulge. Knowing what monstrosity was caged there, she averted her eyes, staring blankly at the wall. She had to get her thoughts together. He was more dangerous than she had envisioned, this was an opponent greater than her. ’ Abrielle, what is wrong with you?’ she thought, trying her best not to scream. She heard his footsteps approaching the bed; he stood at the edge for a while. He climbed over the bed and then leaned onto her ears. "Try to get some sleep we depart in a few hours." He informed her and then walked away towards the door. Abrielle peeked at him and realized he had changed his outfit into something simpler. She was glad he had no intention of sleeping on the bed with her tonight that was for the better. The door was shut, and she rolled over with her eyes staring blankly at the ceiling. Her hands rubbed her face as she groaned loudly. It was easier said than done; she just had to endure for now until he lost whatever interest he had in her. Her legs still ache from the need in-between. What was up with that kiss? A long breath lifted Cedric’s lips as soon as the door closed behind him. There were guards stationed at the entrance, surprised when the prince suddenly left the room this late in the night. He was not in the mood to satisfy their curiosity and just walked off; the hotel luckily had a pub that ran all night. He pulled off his mask and then wrapped his face with a scarf to avoid people easily recognizing him by the unmistakable gold mask. "She doesn’t care if I had a harem; what’s wrong with that woman." He mumbled but that was a question he had no answer to. He never understood whatever was going on in her head or the reason for her actions. She was more dangerous than he thought in ways he never imagined because she seemed to have the ability to unleash a monster he always tried to keep hidden.
