Talk about things getting from bad to worse. The last thing Hazel, who was now Abrielle, remembered was being dropped at her apartment building by Lucian, and then he drove off. She tried to get her memories together but her head was mushy. Yes, something popped into her head. She was shot by an anti-fan. Her luck was so fuck up. "Your holiness, is everything okay, you look kind of pale?" The maid's brows were wrinkled, worried about Abrielle. Today has been a day her lady has been planning for ages and she looks sick. Abrielle glanced at the maid, and then her eyes slowly darted around the room; she was still in this place. Abrielle closed her eyes and then started to chant. "Hazel, wake up from this dream. Your dear Lucian awaits you." She was mumbling with her hand pressing her head. This had to be a dream that was the only possible explanation. The maid was confused and thought her lady was having a bad headache, so she hurried to the nearby desk to pour a glass of water from the porcelain jug. "My holiness, you should have a cup of water. It would help with the headache." The maid offered to distract Abrielle, who was still having a hard time accepting reality. Abrielle's eyes fluttered open and did not change. She brushed the maid's hand away in a fit of rage, causing the water to splash on her while the glass shattered on the floor. "Oh, dear goddess. I am sorry, my lady; I will clean up the mess." The maid immediately apologized not thinking much about Abrielle's behaviour because her lady usually throws tantrums. She squatted on the floor to pick up the glass shard, but everything fell from her hand when she heard the sound of skin striking against each other. There was a large red mark on her lady's milky skin. Her lady would never hurt herself. Abrielle thought it was a dream, but after slapping herself, there was a burning sensation on her cheeks, but she was still there. She raised her hand to slap herself again, but luckily, the maid stopped her on time. "Lady Abrielle what are you doing? You will ruin your face before your wedding. It will take a lot of make-up to cover this up." The maid exclaimed. Abrielle, that name made the lady clenched her fist. She stopped struggling with the maid and she wondered. Did she get transmigrated into her novel? "Let go of my hand." She instructed the maid with a strong voice who hesitantly let go. Abrielle hopped off the bed and then ran to the closest full-length mirror. Her eyes fell on her reflection and she was dumbstruck. Ginger hair with deep blue eyes, different from her Auburn hair and dark obsidian eyes she was really Abrielle. But how. A shrieking scream left Abrielle's mouth immediately after she got slapped harshly by reality. The maid was very worried, wondering if her lady had broken down due to the wedding pressure, which was miles away from the main reason Abrielle was freaking out. Suddenly Abrielle was hit by a splitting headache that made her stop screaming and collapse on the floor. The maid ran to her aide. Images after images started to flash in Abrielle's head, these were her memories as Abrielle. She glanced at the maid and called out. "Dorothy?" With uncertainty in her eyes. Dorothy readily answered as she helped Abrielle up. "Yes, my lady, are you feeling unwell? I will go call the physician." Dorothy was about to call out for help, but Abrielle held her hand, stopping her. "Please what is today's date?" She asked with her hand trembling because of fear."Today is the 20th day of the holy month of Terraverde." Dorothy answered, and Abrielle felt like a hole just opened under her, and she stumbled a few steps backwards. Dorothy panicked, thinking that Abrielle's health was in danger, and sprinted out of the room to get help, leaving the confused young lady behind. "I will get the head maid." 20th Terraverda was the same as September on Earth's calendar, and it is the day Abrielle, the villainess of the book, gets married to Prince Cedric, the villain who kills her because he is obsessed with the female lead. This world had 13 months matching the lunar calendar exactly how Hazel had written. "I can't wait here," Abrielle said with panic filled in her eyes. If she gets married her fate would be written in stone. Not caring a single bit about the fact she was wearing just her nightgown. Abrielle ran to her wardrobe and grabbed a small pouch filled with gold coins and a long fur coat then ran towards the door. Abrielle's wedding happened before the book's actual plot, so she still had a chance. She might not know much about this estate before, but thanks to Abrielle's memories, she knew it like the back of her hand. Abrielle peeked outside her room to check if the coast was clear, but then escaping through the hallways would lead to them catching her earlier. She closed the door and glanced at the window close to a tree. She didn't care about how high her room was on the second floor, all that was on her mind was to escape before the wedding. She strapped her pouch on her waist and buttoned up her fur coat before heading for the window. Her hands reached out for the glass windows to push them open; immediately, her face was hit by the cold autumn morning breeze. It was a bit chilly. The window was very high making Abrielle feel a bit hesitant, but her ears caught the sound of approaching footsteps. They were coming. Not wasting a second more, she carefully climbed out the window with her weight being supported by the sill, then moved sideways with her body pressed against the wall. Her leg slipped but then her eyes darted to the ground. Abrielle's heart literally jumped, but she quickly got her balance, pressing herself against the wall. She closed her eyes to regulate her heartbeat. She was trying to survive, so there was no way she would die here. The door to the room opened, and Dorothy was back with the head maid, Rukia. "Where is the lady?"Rukia asked. Dorothy frowned. Where was Abrielle? "I will check the room properly." She suggested. Abrielle, who was by the window, heard everything clearly but didn't dare move an inch from where she was. She had to wait until they were out of the room. After searching the entire room, there was no sign of Abrielle and Dorothy immediately panicked. "The lady is missing." She gasped. Rukia's face turned from contempt to shock; nothing should happen to the lady, or their heads would have to pay. "Announce to the guards that holy lady Abrielle has been kidnapped." Rukia declared and Abrielle almost screamed. When the hell did she get kidnapped? Rukia and Dorothy left the room to inform the household of Abrielle's disappearance. Unknown to them, she was hiding by the window. Abrielle swallowed hard; this was going to be difficult. Now the entire estate would be searching for her. Pushing away her stray thoughts, her attention was pulled back to the matter at hand: how she was going to get on the tree branch. One mistake and she would fall to her death. She held onto the window lintel with one leg still on the sill, Abrielle tried to reach out for the branch, but it was too far off, and she was freaking scared of heights. This was so scary and crazy. She quickly grabbed the lintel with both hands before she fell off completely. The only way she could reach the branch was if she jumped, but that was very risky. "You can do this, You can do this." She chanted in her head before leaping off the window to catch the branch, but she didn't make it. ' No, you can't do this, and now you are going to die.' her thoughts screamed as she fell, trying to grab a branch. She tried her best not to scream to avoid attracting attention. Call it luck or misfortune, Abrielle was able to grab a narrow branch she anchored her weight on. Her eyes glowed realizing she survived. "Come on, pull yourself up." Abrielle then urged herself to climb up the branch. Unfortunately, this villainess was just a vicious woman with a weak constitution. Climbing a branch was like running a marathon to this lazy body. After a long attempt of desperation, Abrielle finally climbed up the branch, but her victory was short-lived. Snap, the sound of the branch breaking off from the tree caught her attention, and her heartbeat skyrocketed. Abrielle was unable to think of a solution before the branch snapped and she fell. She pressed her eyes together; maybe dying in this world would take her back home, and she would be able to go out on a date with Lucian. The breeze whooshed past her as she fell, grabbing her mouth to muffle out her scream. Even in a near-death experience, she didn't want to expose herself. Abrielle waited for the painful fall that would lead to her death, but it never came. She fell into someone's arms. Her eyes slowly opened to see who her saviour was. She was immediately drawn to the most beautiful gold eyes she had seen before that literally stole her breath away because of how entrancing it was. Who was he?
