Chapter 57 - Okay, now that sounds interesting Okay, so I managed to persuade Min-Cheol to go with me to the library. He looked amazed, and I could tell it was his first time looking around the library. Though, he was the reason I had found the library before when he toured me around, he never got to look around. And his reaction further confirms that he wasn't the owner. "Wow, Hyung, this place is so huge and it's filled with so many books." He said and I nodded with a smile. "Everywhere I look, I see shelves and books." "Yup," I said. "So, what are we doing here?" "We're camping out." I said, spreading the blanket on the floor. "Sounds exciting, right?" I could tell he was excited because of how much his blue eyes were twinkling. "So, you like books." He said, folding his legs as he sat on the blanket and I nodded, looking around for the right book to pick out. "So, would you be happy to receive books as a gift?" "Yes, very." I answered. "I love reading and that's why this part of the mansion is my favorite place." "Really? I thought the bedroom would be your favorite place." He said and I laughed. "Yeah, sleeping is such a nice thing, and the bed is super comfortable, but I love to read as well. And a place filled with the thing I love the most is definitely my favorite place." I picked out two books and felt satisfied. "Here we go," I walked back to him and asked, "Would you like me to read you or would you read it by yourself?" "Read me!" His eyes twinkled. Why did I even ask? It was clear that he would ask me to read for him like he was a kid getting ready to listen to a bedtime story. "What's the title?" He asked as I sat down and he got comfy next to me, resting his head on my shoulder. "A fallen star," I said and he clicked his tongue. "That sounds boring." He said but I shook his head. "Never judge a book by its cover," I said. "According to the synopsis, it's a story between dragons and elves. It's more of a fantasy novel, and the fallen star in this novel is the hybrid of both an elf and a dragon." "Okay, now that sounds interesting." He said and I laughed. "See. The night is long so let me know if you're tired. I'll mark where you stop." I said to him. "Why? Won't you sleep once I say I'm tired?" "I'm sorry but my curiosity won't let me sleep." I said and he thought for a moment. "Well, in that case, I'll try my best to stay awake for a long time." Micheal was true to his word and stayed awake with me as I read the story out loud and fast. He was following and was quite impressed how words could bring such fantasies to life. He did promise to stay awake with me but I had a feeling he stayed awake because of how interesting the novel was. My eyes were wide awake, but at some points, I felt he was already feeling sleepy. If he wanted to sleep, he could sleep. He was a busy man, unlike the jobless me, so I would feel bad if he had to stay away from work and stress his secretary just because he stayed awake with me. "I'm hungry," he suddenly said, snuggling on me and I looked at him. "Do you know what the time is?" I asked him but he shook his head. "I left my phone in my room so no one would disturb me." He said. "What about you? Didn't you carry your phone?" He asked. It looked like he was already drowsy for him not to remember I had been bought by them. So, I didn't have a phone. "I don't have one yet." I said. "Just hold on. I'll go back inside and get you something. I'm also feeling a bit hungry so how about cake?" I saw the maids baking cake earlier but they didn't serve it along with the ice cream for dessert. I wondered if it was meant for tomorrow. "Alright, I'll wait here." He said, rubbing his eyes, and out of nowhere, I kissed the top of his head. As soon as I did that, I froze. Ah, my body moved before my mind could process thoughts. He was just so cute that I did that without realizing it. "What was that for, Hyung?" He asked, looking at me stunned but then I tilted my head and smiled. "It's a reward for doing so well." I said and quickly got up before he asked me what he did well. I just need to come up with an excuse for kissing his head. But seriously, that was so unlike me? Was I also feeling drowsy? Was that why I acted like that? I hope he won't misunderstand it. I got inside the mansion. It was dark because they had put off most of the lights, leaving only dimly lit corner lights so the mansion would not be completely dark. I made my way to the kitchen and found two maids talking. One was April and the other was one of the other maids who took care of me. "Um, sorry to interrupt you," I said and they both stood at attention, bowing their heads at me. "Oh, it's nothing. I was just wondering if I could get some snacks. Or better still, if there was cake." April nodded and went to the refrigerator. A different refrigerator from the one keeping my ramyeon. Honestly, how many refrigerators were in this kitchen? "There's cake, master," she answered and I nodded. "I'd like a slice, please. Make it a big slice." I wasn't planning on eating much, but if Min-Cheol happened to not be a fan of sweats, then I would eat it all after convincing him to take a few bites. "Thank you," I said and April nodded. I was about to leave when I saw the other maid. She looked a lot like April. "Are you two related?" I asked and they felt stunned. How did I know? Well, I just had a feeling. "Yes, master." April answered and I nodded. "Well, that makes things easy. I'll call you May." I said to the other maid who was stunned. The same reaction April had when I named her. Maybe I'm being inconsiderate with the naming process but at least it was easier to call out to them. "May, April, I'm with Master Kang in the library so if you're looking for me. I'm right there." I said and they nodded. I was about to leave when I asked again. "Do you have any idea what time it is?" Their eyes traveled to the wall behind me and I turned to see the wall clock. It was a little past 12. "Ah, thank you." I said to them and hurried away.
