Chapter 34 - I know why I was bought "Hyung, what do you think about making babies?" He asked and I paused. What... Why did he just ask me? "And I'm not asking this as a slave, as a person, what do you think about making babies?" I was stunned honestly. What was with them and asking me questions? I blinked twice and then looked at Ki-hoon who also held a serious expression. Was he planning to ask me the same thing all along? "Well," I sat up. I didn't need to think too much about this but I was a bit confused. "Excuse me, but are you asking me what I think about the 'act' of making babies or me 'making' babies because those two things get confusing sometimes? In other words, are you asking about sex?" Min-Cheol gave it a little thought, tilting his head to the side and squeezing his eyes shut. How cute. You can't tell me he doesn't know the difference between the two. "Both." He answered. "I want to know your thoughts on the act and you making babies." In other words, he wanted to know how I felt about having sex and giving birth. "Can I... Can I be honest?" I asked and they nodded. "Do you promise not to get mad at me or even hit me?" I asked. I need to be sure I wasn't walking the plank with my honesty. Just as I couldn't predict their next action, they probably wouldn't be able to know what they'll do next cause they've got this hot temper that causes them to act before they think. But now that they've softened up to me, I guess it's fine. "I won't hit you, Jo-Pil." Ki-hoon gave me his word, and Min-Cheol grabbed my hand, holding it tenderly as he smiled to my face. "I already know you don't like getting hit, and you hate it when it hurts, so I won't do that." He said. Wait, does that mean he'll do something else if he gets mad? "I don't know what you're about to say but I'll try not to get mad." I glanced back at Ki-hoon and he nodded, also giving me his word. Wow, I might've been lucky. It was just the third day and they were already acting like pups around me. I knew my tongue was glib but I didn't think I was this good. They're completely smitten now, aren't they? Well, good for me. Now, I don't have to hold back and say what I have in my mind. "I know why I was bought," I said, sounding like a poor hopeless soul. "I know it's to make babies, as you said. And I'm supposed to fulfill my role and do whatever my master wants. I want to fulfill my role but that doesn't mean I can't get scared. I mean," I brushed my face with my palm, acting pitiful. These little gestures spoke so many words that I didn't even need to tell them that I was feeling very bad about my situation before they knew I was feeling bad. "Jo-Pil," Ki-hoon called softly, sympathizing with me. "As much as I'd want to be of good 'use' I can't stop my body from trembling at the thought of it. I had never imagined myself in this situation and I was always on the run, so I got scared of so many things. Particularly from 'that' experience." I held my arms, squeezing tight. "The thought of someone hovering over me scares me to my bones that I..." My hands began to tremble. Here we go again. Just like before, my body was out of control. It was something similar to muscle memory. What my mind recalls has an effect on this body. My body trembled as it recalled the trauma of that event. I shut my eyes tight and bit my lip. This wasn't my doing, but if it could get the sympathy of both of them, then it was worth it. "Hyung," Min-Cheol called, pressing his thumb underneath my lip, trying to get it out of my mouth as carefully as he could. "You'll hurt yourself," I opened my eyes and looked at me. 'Are my eyes deceiving me right now?' I wondered as I stared at the worry in Min-Cheol's eyes. Min-Cheol never cared for anyone other than himself. He put his own interest above others, and yet... That kid who had daggers in his shadow... Was looking at me so sympathetically that I was almost moved to tears by his care. 'Having different expressions suits him better than that mask of a smile.' I thought. It was a completely random thought, but still, I couldn't help it. "You said you're scared of getting hurt and feeling pain but if you keep biting your lower lip, you'll rip it and..." He looked away, his expression somewhat confused as his voice softened even more. "...you'll be in pain." I watched Min-Cheol who got confused. Yeah, we're both in that boat now. From the looks of it, he was trying to ponder why his attitude changed all of a sudden and he was caring for someone. It was so new to him, to the point that it actually got him excited. Like a kid who was trying something new for the first time, his eyes beamed. 'I guess my favorability has gone up a lot.' I thought and Ki-hoon reached for me. He drew my face to gaze at him by pinching my chin lightly. Our gaze locked and I gulped. He looked into my eyes as if searching for something and then to my lips that I had bitten. "Does it hurt?" He asked seeing them slightly reddened. "N-no," I answered, darting my eyes away. I couldn't even dare to keep looking because he was drop-dead gorgeous, and his look of concern was even more enticing. I fear that if I kept looking at his eyes, I may get enchanted by those dark eyes that compared to the dark sky on a moonless night. Maybe I might even turn to stone, haha. "Jo-Pil," He called and I brought my gaze back to him. His face was very close. "Don't think of it anymore." He said but I threw my gaze away and said, "That's that for the 'act' of making babies," I said. "The thought terrifies me. And as for me making babies," I glanced at them, one at a time. To say this meant I was beyond bold. I had been bought for one reason, and that was to make babies, and yet I was going to say something that could very much contradict my worth. On second thought, let's still tread lightly. There's no telling just how much they had opened to me so better not to count my chickens before they hatch. "...I don't know." I said, smiling nervously. "I never thought of it but I'm sure it's fine. Good night."
