Chapter 150: Stop saying I’m hungry and need to eat We got to the spa and as I stepped out of the car, my eyes twinkled at the magnificent building. "What would you like to do first, Jo-Pil"? Jin-Yeok asked, acting as the guide. "A massage!" I immediately said, not going back but then, my stomach grumbled loudly. I froze. I was sure the driver inside the car heard it. Why did my stomach only ever know how to embarrass me in times like this? I turned red as they laughed. "I guess your stomach’s spoken for you, Hyung." Min-Cheol said and I trembled in embarrassment. Even Seo-Jun was laughing. It wasn’t fair. "I’m not even that hungry," I said, dropping my gaze to the ground as I pouted in dissatisfaction. I had never heard either of their stomachs grumble before. Why was it always me? It made it seem like I was such a foodie. And I was not hungry yet. I was sure of it. "It’s alright, Jo-Pil. You don’t have to sulk. It’s not your fault." He should wipe that smile off his face if he was going to tell me that. It felt like he was making fun of me rather than cheering me up. "Why?" My face twisted sadly and I threw my gaze away. "You’re all so mean." I said and they gasped in shock. "No, Jo-Pil, it’s not like that." "Hyung, I didn’t mean to laugh. I..." You’re lying. You laughed because I was hilarious, right? You’re all so mean. I would rather go in on my own. My neck was aching, and my back was stiff because I had to put up with her weight for so long, and not just that, my stomach was also grumbling for its own reasons. It was all their fault. My gaze suddenly fell on Seo-Jun, whose lips curled up, and he snickered at me. Even Seo-Jun was making fun of me. It wasn’t fair. Justice for me. "Let’s just go in already." I said. "I want to get a massage first." "But you should probably eat something first since..." "I said I’m not hungry." I yelled at them and bit my lips afterward, my fists trembling as I tried my best to hold back the tears from falling but they saw the tears in my eyes anyway. I acted stubbornly and had tears in my eyes, and that was when they realized they had gone a bit too far. "My stomach just grumbled, that’s all. I’m not hungry." I said. "I mean it." "I believe it." Seo-Jun suddenly said, looking at his watch. "It’s not even noon yet so he shouldn’t be hungry yet." "That’s right. That’s right. So stop saying I’m hungry and need to eat." I said. I was upset this time. Even if I wanted to gloss over it and act like I was fine, I couldn’t because I felt too upset. "Hyung, are you upset?" Min-Cheol asked and I glanced at him before turning away. "No," I answered but wouldn’t spare him another glance. "You’re lying. You’re upset." He said. Okay, he was so sure of it so why was he still asking? "Forget it." I said and sighed. "It’s my own fault." "No, it’s because we laughed right? Sorry for laughing. It was funny at the time and I didn’t know it’d upset you." "That’s why I said it’s my own fault. I made you laugh, honestly. So just forget about it." I said but my words were heavy. Even the smile I tried to put up seemed too forced to be real and it got them worried. I walked ahead and they wanted to follow but stopped as Seo-Jun said, "Don’t chase after him." They looked at him weirdly while I stopped at the entrance. I couldn’t get in without them anyway so I would just sulk while I waited for them to finish their conversation. "It seems you don’t know anything about appeasing the person you like when they’re angry. Why? Is it because you’ve never had to appease him before? Because he never got mad no matter what you guys did?" "Why would we get him mad intentionally?" Min-Cheol asked. "We’re not like you." "Yeah, yeah, whatever." Seo-Jun waved away Min-Cheol’s last words like it didn’t matter and continued. "I’m just saying that if you want to make him feel better while he’s upset, crowding him and forcing an apology on him won’t do you any good." "And how do you know this?" Jin-Yeok asked. As far as he was concerned, Seo-Jun had never been in a proper relationship before. He only had fuck partners and playthings. That was all. So, how did he know how to appease a lover? Even he, who dated Su-Yeon for a while, did not know this. Maybe it was because he never had to worry about appeasing her as she made her demands as soon as he unintentionally upset her. She was materialistic so it wasn’t hard to appease her. He must’ve thought he could do the same for me since I liked money a lot but I wasn’t exactly materialistic. I just lacked money and never wanted to lack anymore. I hoped he realized that fact. "Read a lot of books." Seo-Jun said and then tapped his head. "Even if you don’t have real-life experience, you should at least have the knowledge since you guys like him so much." He folded his arms. "You guys do like him, right?" I noticed him towards me as if checking to confirm if I was listening or not. He caught my gaze and then looked away, his lips slightly curling up as if he was amused. What? What was that gaze for? "Of course we like him." Min-Cheol immediately answered. "Hm, if you say so." "So, you’re saying we should just give him some space?" Jin-Yeok asked. "How sure are you that that will work out?" "I’m tired of talking." He said and started heading for the entrance. "Just do whatever you want. I don’t care." From where I was standing, I sighed. Did they even realize I could hear their conversation? But that aside, I think I had Seo-Jun to thank if they actually gave me some space. Don’t get me wrong, I love their company, but sometimes, they were a bit too much, and I felt exhausted just from being around them. So, if they lessen it a bit and allow me to breathe in peace while we were in the spa, then I would definitely soak in the spa treatments better.
