Chapter 41 - I remember eating instant ramen a lot I dashed out of there as fast as I could, like a rabbit getting away from a predator, and I heard Jin-Yeok chuckle. From the corner of my eyes, I could see that bright and innocent smile radiating on his face and hiding his sinister background. He waved and I gulped. These guys were messing with me. Can't they just let me off? I'm only one man. Contrary to what I thought, there was no kinky outfit like a bunny suit or maid outfit; instead, what was inside the box was quite normal. It was a suit that had a waistcoat, again. What was up with these people and waistcoats? The maids were right next to me, waiting for me to announce that I was ready to take my bath. I sighed. This life... Just how long was I going to keep living it? I suddenly missed eating instant ramen. I know I needed to eat a lot to regain my strength and vitality but the distant taste of instant ramen made my mouth water. "By any chance, can I have some instant ramen?" I asked the maids as they scrubbed my arm and they looked at me with no expression on their faces and said, "You can't have junk food." Ah, that stung my heart more than I thought it would. I asked, hoping to get a different response this time. "No," they answered coldly and I gave up, just for that moment. The food they gave me was tasty, but for someone who ate instant ramen most of the time since I had a lot of late-night shifts and couldn't be bothered to spend my hard-earned money on a restaurant, I was starting to miss the taste. Hm, come to think of it, what did I spend my money on if not food? In the end, I spent my money on novels I don't think I'll ever get to read due to the nature of my job. I closed my eyes and nodded my head. When I wake up, I'll try to minimize the amount of books I purchase and make sure to finish the current ones before buying a new one. But I honestly can't help it. The titles all look so tempting, and I get the feeling that when I want to read it, I won't have the money to buy it, so I buy it as soon as I find it with the money I have in hand. 'It's probably a bad habit, right?' I wondered to myself and rose from the water, placing my hand on my waist and the other hand on my neck, sighing. 'I'll think about it more once I wake up.' The maids wore me my robe and dropped a towel on my head, leading me out of the bathroom. Even when I'm so absent-minded, they do a good job of taking care of me, as if they were robots who only knew what they were programmed to do. But I confirmed they were not robots in human skin the first day they tried to bathe me. There was no way robots would listen to me when I asked them to give me a moment to get comfortable. Though they lacked expressions, they still had beating hearts. We got to the room and I saw other maids unpacking the boxes that had been downstairs and putting them in my wardrobe accordingly. And it was at that point I found out there was an extra door in my room leading to an empty dressing room. But it wasn't going to be empty for long given how many clothes I had gotten that morning. But seriously... It was so huge. Was there a room closet in all the rooms? "This will be your dressing room from now on," the maid told me and I nodded. Well, there was enough room there for more than one to pack into. But then what about the wardrobe in my room? I walked out and checked it, only to find out it was filled with 'only' my nightwear. "Oh," I exclaimed out of habit and then laughed. So, this was what it was like being rich. I was just starting to get that feeling. Maids bathing me and a full table meal prepared for me during breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with a personal doctor who came to check up on me... None of that registered just how rich I had become. Not that it was my money, but I was the one living in the riches now. And the best part of it was that I didn't need to work at all. "You look like you're in a good mood," I heard Jin-Yeok's voice and flinched. I turned my head and found him standing at the door with a bright smile. "Care to share what's got you smiling too happily?" He asked and I rolled my eyes away. Ah, yes. I may not be working but I feel dealing with people like Jin-Yeok was enough to drain me of my mental and physical stamina. Let's just smile and get by this. "It's because I like the outfit you got me," I answered, turning around to show him the full view of the green waistcoat, white long-sleeve shirt inner, and green pants he got me. "The green... looks so much like your eyes."
