Chapter 6 - Emergency But how could she? Their closeness only made her heart pound harder. All she could do was hope he wouldn't notice and focus on steadying her breath as instructed. More than that, the warmth of his hands against her bare skin—one on her back, the other on her stomach—sent a slow, tingling heat through her. His scent drifted around her, each breath like an intoxicating balm that lulled her nerves into relaxation. The cramps in her abdomen dulled with every inhale. 'What's with this man? How can his hands be this warm... and soft? Do Capital doctors have some strange ability? The only ones capable of something like this are lycans. but...' She followed his command, inhaling and exhaling, trying not to enjoy the relaxation too much. Her bite on her lower lip tightened as his palm pressed firmly against her back, while the one on her stomach moved in slow, deliberate circles, coaxing the tension away. Lethia felt relief when the tight chains twisting her insides seemed to loosen, and the throbbing in her temples faded.
