Chapter 11 - Getting pegged by the old man The next day arrived, and Ren wasted no time continuing his morning training. With his newly improved Vitality, he wanted to see if it made a noticeable difference in his endurance. He began his run around Konoha, following the same path along the village walls as before. Last time: 3 hours to complete one full lap. This time: 2 hours. Ren grinned, pleased with his progress. "A full hour faster. That's a huge improvement!" He wasn't completely drained after the first lap either, so he kept running until his breath gave out. After finally pushing his limits, he returned home, but this time, he didn't collapse into sleep. Instead, he took a bath, cleaned himself up, and set out for the library. On his way to the library, Ren remembered another important task. "I need to buy glasses." If he wanted to keep his system hidden, having something to obscure his eyes while reading system messages was a smart precaution. He checked out several clothing stores, searching for a good pair of glasses. After browsing through different styles, he finally found a store selling sunglasses. Ren picked a pair of round black sunglasses—similar to Gojo Satoru's from JJK—and put them on. His vision was unaffected, and the glasses fit comfortably on his face. "Perfect. Now I don't have to worry about people noticing my eyes shifting when I check the system." Satisfied with his purchase, he continued toward the library. The Konoha Library was a four-story building, its exterior lined with stone pillars and wooden accents. As Ren stepped inside, he noticed the quiet atmosphere—a few civilians and shinobi were reading at various tables, flipping through scrolls and books. He wanted to confirm whether his knowledge from the anime was accurate. Pulling out a few scrolls and books, Ren settled in to read. Ren carefully read through the scrolls and books in the History Section, comparing everything with what he remembered from the anime. The Founding of Konoha – No major differences. The village was founded by Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha, with the goal of creating peace and stability among the warring clans.The Three Great Ninja Wars – The events lined up almost perfectly with what he knew. The Second Shinobi War still had the rise of the Sannin, and the Third War still led to Minato's legendary reputation. He confirmed that there were no major differences, only some minor details that were negligible. "Good. That means my knowledge from the anime is still reliable." Shifting his focus, Ren started reading about Konoha's government and power structure. The Hokage is the highest authority in the village. Every department, including ANBU, the Medical Corps, the Barrier Corps, and the Intelligence Division, reports directly to him. The Hokage's word is final in all village matters, but he is advised by the village elders and the council. The Daimyō of the Land of Fire technically has political control over Konoha but usually stays out of shinobi affairs. The Academy is directly under the Hokage's control. Unlike other matters where elders or clan heads may have some influence, the Academy belongs entirely to the Hokage's jurisdiction. No clans, elders, or external factions can interfere with Academy policies, curriculum, or student selection. Ren found that last part interesting. "So, the Hokage has absolute control over the Academy?" That meant clans like the Uchiha, Hyūga, or Aburame couldn't influence student placements or training methods. "That actually makes sense. If the Academy were controlled by clans, it'd become a political battlefield rather than a school for future shinobi." It also meant that once he entered the Academy, he wouldn't have to deal with political favoritism. "Good. That makes things simpler." Although everything in the library matched his knowledge from the anime, Ren wasn't completely convinced. "No government would actually allow civilians access to all the real secrets—especially not a military village like Konoha." It was likely that certain details were altered or omitted to maintain village security and political stability. Still, the broad historical events and power structure details were useful. Even if some information was restricted, the core principles should still hold true. After confirming the major history records, Ren browsed through other available sections, skimming through various topics. Once he was satisfied, he decided to head home. By noon, Ren was back home, enjoying a good meal before preparing for his next training session. "Time to continue chakra control." "I thought they looked cool, so I bought them." Juichi stared at him for a moment before chuckling. "Hah. As long as you don't start thinking you're some secret ANBU agent, do whatever you want." Ren simply smirked, inwardly relieved that his excuse worked. After a quick chat, Ren looked at his father seriously and asked, "Teach me how to fight." Juichi didn't even hesitate. "Alright. Let's head to the backyard." The two stepped outside, and Juichi stood across from Ren, arms crossed. "Listen, kid. Right now, you don't have enough strength to cause real damage. That's just how young bodies work." Ren nodded, already expecting this. "Then what should I focus on?" Juichi smirked. "Speed. If you can't hit hard, then hit fast. Overwhelm your opponent before they can react." Ren grinned. "That works for me." Ren immediately began throwing punches and kicks, cycling through basic attack patterns he had seen before. Juichi, watching carefully, raised an eyebrow in surprise. "His speed is already above Academy level... not bad at all." He kept this observation to himself, deciding it was better to guide Ren further rather than praise him too soon. "Your technique is sloppy, but your instincts aren't bad." Juichi finally said. "Let me show you how to fight smarter." Juichi then demonstrated a few key techniques, explaining how to: ???? Use momentum to make attacks feel stronger than they actually are. ???? For now, these tactics would help bridge the gap until his body fully developed. After training intensely for a while, Ren was completely exhausted. Both he and Juichi sat down on the ground, catching their breath. Once Ren had recovered enough, Juichi pulled out a scroll and handed it to him. "This will definitely help in a real fight." After that, Juichi handed him another scroll. [Stretching & Conditioning Exercises] Ren opened it and saw a structured routine of morning and night exercises. Juichi leaned forward, explaining, "Do these stretches and exercises twice a day—morning and night. This will prepare your body for the Fast Fist Taijutsu Style." Ren's eyes lit up with interest. "Fast Fist Taijutsu? What's that?" Juichi smirked. "A shinobi has to be fast before he is strong. There's no point in having strength if you can't even reach your enemy." He continued, "The opposite is also true, but you still have time to build strength as your body grows. Right now, the focus is on speed—specifically, training your leg muscles early to make sure they develop properly." Ren nodded, understanding the logic. "So, if I condition my legs now, it'll be easier to reach insane speeds in the future?" Juichi grinned. "Exactly. The earlier you start, the better." Ren smirked, feeling motivated. "Alright. I'll master this style." With that, he had a clear training path ahead of him.
