Magus Valthorne didn't know if he should laugh or cry that she was actually giving him a magical lesson, but she was right in a way.One of his weaknesses was splitting his power between different undead, but that was something he could easily fix. Necromancers needed bodies to create undead, and getting bodies, quality bodies, wasn't an easy thing. But it wasn't the time to start that sort of argument with Magus Sylrissa. With a mental command, the black puddle on his body hardened, turning glass-like. The fairy on his shoulder emitted a golden radiance, and he disappeared, although his voice was still sounding from the same place. "Why are you really helping them? I know you don't work for anyone, Magus Sylrissa. So why? The Eboncrypt would pay you double the price of what they've been paying you!" Magus Sylrissa raised her brow. "Impressive technique you've whipped up there. I can't even feel you. How unusual. I thought you necromancers hated getting physical?" "Answer the question!" Magus Valthorne's voice was still in the same place. She shrugged. "I doubt it. Can you give me Dragon blood to study? Of course, there are no real Dragons flying above now, but according to history, there were Dragons aplenty back in the days. And they were even part of those that supported the Sundered Accord." "What should I do with the useless history lesson? We Magus were also at the forefront of the Accord! We pushed for it with our might, unlike those traitors that changed their minds only at the last moment!" Magus Sylrissa raised her brows. "It seems we're discussing history lessons after all." There was a pause. And then Magus Sylrissa's eyes widened as she twisted away from her current position. It wasn't every day someone like Sylrissa avoided physical attacks. In fact, it was terribly rare for such things to happen, but there it was! She twisted away, and the next moment, the place she had been standing exploded, the ground melted and corroded. Magus Valthorne's sinister voice reached her. "You are right. One strong undead is more sensible than fifty weak undead. How could I not think of something like that?" Magus Sylrissa had stopped smiling and now frowned with seriousness. "What an impressive undead. No wonder you didn't care that I killed all those ones. They weren't needed!" "I won't say they were not needed." The invisible Magus Valthorne let out a dry chuckle. "Not all of us can blast our troubles away with just raw strength... and that's one thing I'm looking forward to after I kill you." Magus Sylrissa looked at where the voice was coming from with a calm expression on her face. "You are not the one that killed that creature you're using for undead. I'm interested. Where did you get it? I can pay you for it." Unknown to her, Magus Valthorne had gone still, his eyes wide behind the mask of frozen gel puddle. "You... you really are a crazy woman!" Magus Sylrissa shrugged. "The undead can be worn like armor, and its strength is nearly up to mine, not to talk of the fact of that strange corrosive power. What an interesting creature. I want it." Magus Valthorne replied with another attack. This time it was a long-range strike that made the air twist and turn and the ground bubble. And again, Magus Sylrissa twisted away, blurring across the space as if she could use spatial magic. She crossed to the place where she last heard his voice, but of course, he was long gone, and she got hit by a blast of magic to her back for her trouble. She growled as she felt pain for what was the first time in a long time. "You bastard!" Dark laughter filled the air. "Good. I'm going to kill you and finally have that strong undead that I deserve." Magus Sylrissa moved away from her place, constantly blurring to random locations. All the while, she brought something out of her pocket. It was a bright red shawl. "A lot of people said I've been increasing my weight since I was born, but that's impossible, as I didn't know about my power then and would have destroyed myself. "But this shawl that my mother wrapped me in was the exception. It was the only thing I increased the weight and durability of since the day I was born. "I'm going to let you have a taste of that strength." ☆☆▪︎▪︎☆ When Vacuse first stepped out with the others, he was surprised by the changes he saw. The encampment had been turned upside down, and everywhere seemed to be burning. "What the..." Yukata turned around, his face full of stunned silence as if he couldn't quite process it all. It wasn't that he hadn't seen fighting before, but none as intense as the one he was seeing. In fact, the two groups fighting seemed almost impossible to tell apart, and the air stung with magic.
