While everyone scowled with disappointment that the letter turned out to be an absolute sham and had even started to think of how to punish the one behind it, something happened! Both the ring and the letter suddenly vanished!
What?
There was an uproar of shock and surprise from the different areas where people monitored the situation. What shocked them most was the fact that they couldn't even detect any abnormality or spell.
The letter and ring were there, and then they were not!
The owner of Long Neck Duck let out a loud shriek of surprise. "Protect me! Protect me!"
But nothing happened to him. Everything was normal and quiet. It was just that the letter and ring had vanished under everyone's nose as if they had never been there.

Fifth Circle Magus Valthorne was annoyed as he flew over Mountain City, speeding toward where his men set up camp to fight the dragon hunters.
When he first entered the mountains he thought his chase would be fast. After all, he was a Fifth Circle Magus; he was powerful and could even bring out the strength of Eboncrypt if needed.
At first it seemed that way, especially when he found that dead body he could track, but he was so wrong he couldn't even explain it.
Tracking the dead body felt as if he was trying to find a drop of water in a sea. It was useless. He didn't know the type of power covering that dead body, but the concealment was powerful.
Then he heard the news of the dragon hunters and got closer to them to maybe work with them, only to see that some of them had the feel of those strange powers that the dragon and its rider possessed.
Both sides wouldn't share information or trust each other. The only thing they could do was capture and drag the information out of their mouths.
That was what caused the battle!
And Magus Valthorne thought that as a Fifth Circle he could flatten the dragon hunters, but they had a Fifth Circle of their own and the battle had dragged on, letting the lower circles fight it out.
"Now, there's this new development. Who exactly is this Red Merchant I've heard about? It really can't be the one that killed the dream beast, right? Surely not?"
He grunted to himself. "I guess I'll find out soon!"

"Have you heard about the Red Merchant? They said he's some kind of young lord that sent a letter to the Long Neck Duck. Somehow it got the whole city up in arms."
The speaker was Harkon Vorrakyn, Vacuse's first captain and personal guard. He stood by an open window, watching the street below with hooded eyes; the red in them seemed to have lost their luster.
The person he was speaking with was none other than Captain Amros, who sat cross-legged in the middle of the room, covered in faint silver light.
Since they came into the Great Dungeon, they had been constantly on edge and almost disorganized when they lost their leader. They'd searched, fought, and done all sorts of things just to find him, but found nothing.
Then they retreated into the mountains and formed a hunting group of their own. Their aim was to use the hunting group as tentacles to search for their lord.
And then they heard news of a dragon. It had thrown the whole dragon hunters' leadership into disarray as they clutched at faint hope that Vacuse might actually still be alive.
But then the Magus from Eboncrypt refused to say anything and the battle raged on.
Captain Amros steadied himself and the silver swirling light disappeared. He was working on his breakthrough to Stage Four, just like everyone else was working hard on themselves. All for finding their lord. Follow current novels on ????????????????????⟡????????????????⟡????????????
"What does that have to do with us? If this Red Merchant is trying to fight us then we might actually be bothered to do something about it. Is he trying to fight us?"
Harkon shook his head but clenched his fist. "We should go all out against the Eboncrypt Magus. They're playing with us! With our power we should be able to crush them!"
It seemed Harkon had grown headstrong and less logical since his time in the Great Dungeon. He felt shame and self-directed anger that he hadn't been there to protect his lord.
Captain Amros raised his hand, his eyes shifting silver. "Calm. And we really can't beat Eboncrypt. You know they have a strong root outside. But that aside, you know the reason why we don't go all out against them.
"I do not truly trust some of the Magi, especially the Fifth Circle. She's planning something for sure. Why has she been sticking close to us all this while? Only because she's interested in dragons and wants to see what would happen?"
Harkon almost flinched at that. "You... we saw what happened! I am a dragon, Captain!"
Captain Amros shifted and smiled a little. "Indeed you are, but never close to the sense of the one we are hunting. As such, her curiosity is still very high."
Harkon shuddered. He could still remember what that Fifth Circle Magus woman did to him, testing his blood and using all types of strange magical instruments to check inside him.
If he had to guess, what she really wanted to do was split him open and study his insides.
"Then what can we do? We can't keep remaining in a deadlock. Either we commit or fall back. This battle is costing a lot!" Harkon said.
Captain Amros sighed and rubbed his head. It had been so easy when all he had to do was listen to orders. But now he was the one who had to make orders and then give them. "Where's that bandit?"
"You mean Devour Bandit? He's still out hunting with his team, but he should be back by now. Are you going to commit a full assault then?"
"I'll have to talk to her. But you are right. We can't keep shifting back. Finding the dragon heir is the priority."
