It was strange.The two of them stood there in the middle of corpses that lacked even a single drop of blood and talked about pills as if it was the easiest thing to do, while a group of spider monstrosities stared at them from the side. "If this pill can only be created by Blood Magus, then you and your kind must be important," Vacuse pointed out as he reflected on the usefulness of the pill. She shrugged. "Yes. But every Magus is only important for their strength. Power is what makes one important after all." Vacuse had already made up his mind. "You will make ravage pills for me. It doesn't matter if they are balanced or not. I will use quantity over quality." Lady Slave looked at him with criticism in her eyes. "I haven't agreed to do anything for you. Besides, an unbalanced pill is dangerous to the one using it. The clash of essence is dangerous, especially if it's in large quantities!" Vacuse remained unmoved. "Can quantity measure up to the quality of the pill?" She hesitated, then sighed. "Yes. We use such in war, but anyone that consumes the pill will be taking something dangerous indeed." Vacuse shrugged again. "Then it's settled. At least now I have something to look forward to in the mountains." He took the strip of cloth and wrapped it around his eyes once more, and at the same time, he withdrew his aura, trying to appear harmless and powerless once again. "Alright, let's return." He returned the dragon construct back into his ring and followed after Lady Slave, appearing once again as if he needed help to find his way around. Before they went, though, Vacuse had to store the bodies into his ring. Lady Slave had already assured him that the monsters wouldn't eat them, and their story was that they did. When they returned to the main tunnel of the Gloomspire territory, they found the atmosphere tense. Everyone seemed to be rushing somewhere, and they spoke in hushed voices. And one thing that was on their lips the most was Mistwalkers. Vacuse and Lady Slave walked steadily toward the guide building as planned. They had gone over it again and again before coming to the conclusion that there was no way the gang wouldn't be suspicious of them, even if they said the Mistwalker leaders were killed by spiders. They would be under heavy suspicion no matter what, and the strange occurrence would spread and reach the ears of those after them. Two hunters, a male and female. Although one appeared blind, it was still suspicious, and the Magus of Eboncrypt would investigate it. So they had already given up on that. They would still do their best to keep their identity hidden, but another plan was already in place. When they reached the guide building, they were met with warriors of the Gloomspire who didn't look all that happy with Yukata. But the manager of the guides was there, and he quickly explained everything. The official story went like this: "The Mistwalkers seem to have bitten off more than they could chew, and as such, their enemies finally got tired of them and carried out an attack. Also, there was a traitor amongst their ranks that led to their destruction at the longleg spiders' lair." It was a stupid cover story, and no one believed it. But they didn't have to. It was the mountains after all, and at the end of all things, there is only one rule: that of the strong over the weak. Vacuse and Lady Slave didn't involve themselves. Yukata acted as their go-between and sorted out everything. Indeed, the Mistwalkers had been destroyed, and their wealth plundered by their enemies. Lady Slave and Vacuse also got their shares in gold of twenty thousand. It wasn't a particularly large sum all things considered, but it was an amount that Vacuse had never had before in his name, both in his past and current life. The reason for the last life was apparent, but in this new life, he hadn't actually needed a large sum of money, as everything he had was being pulled directly from the family. But he had been having second thoughts these days. It was long overdue after all. They also seemed to want Lady Maraget to stay with them and work under them. Lady Maraget was the name she gave them, and they all thought she was some kind of hidden master there to roam around. Vacuse hadn't been important enough to have his name asked. "Thank you for your kind words, but we must get going already. We do have a long way to go," she declined for what must have been the third time. The manager nodded. "A shame! And you really don't want to hire more guides? We can even form a team for you, complete with warriors who'd follow you. What do you think?" In truth, Vacuse had thought about it, but he decided that if he wanted something of such, he would get deeper into the mountains first. They had a circle five Magus after them. Lady Maraget once again shook her head. "Thank you for the offer, but Yukata here has already proved to be satisfactory." The manager's eyes darkened at the mention of Yukata, and he snorted. "Alright, alright. Just pass through here when you are coming again, and we'll host you to a lovely meal!" Lady Slave bowed and then gestured harshly at the blind guy beside her as their guide led them out.
