Chapter 188: Guild Agenda Who needed sleep? Apparently, everyone. Everyone had to sleep. And if the tortoise, now dubbed Tortie, hadn’t been sleeping for nearly half the day, then even he would’ve been forced into slumber. Because their guild leader learned too fast and decided that everyone would have clarity and enlightenment after napping in the space. Granted, even D-29 took that to heart and decided that systems needed to sleep. And was even more convinced of its importance once it successfully devised a suggestion that ultimately pleased everyone. They were holding a meeting today, and it was to discuss the increasing number of concerns. Which were mostly solvable with Star coins and, most definitely, CP. Luca was amazed at how everybody had a contribution and seemed to have looked into things that he thought he would have to check. Wow. Xavier was right about sleep! Maybe everyone needed more time! But really, it was because Xavier had already called everyone’s attention to pick up the slack, or they would be sacked. Thankfully, everyone genuinely cared for their spiraling leader and respective lives. So people, some bony elders, one system, and a guardian mecha came prepared. The holographic board carried over by Kyle had several items on the agenda: - Energy Stabilizer Materials - Energy Container Materials - Establishing a nursery for plants meant for ’greenhouse’ planting - Mecha Repairs and Upgrades - Online Shop Update - Classification of Aquatic Life While there were definitely more concerns that could be added, these were generally the things they had to deal with, starting from the more daunting ones. Like finding a solution to the energy dispersal issue. Ollie and Luca had to tell everyone about what they gleaned from the Blueprint, which was brought with blood, sweat, and goo. "We’ve got ten materials needed for the ten major components to make both of these." Ollie started. "And while we can try sourcing six of them, we have four unknown materials that need to be bought from the Trove." "And right now, we don’t have enough CP for it." Added Luca But it really wasn’t just that. Since, in Luca’s mind, they also needed Star coins for the other components. And even when his father and Xavier volunteered to use their funds for it, the little money grubber zinged in horror. "So, really, we just need more CP. Because most of our problems can be solved by throwing in funds!" Ollie raised both his hands to point out the issue. "Are there suitable guild missions that we can apply for?" Xavier looked at Kyle, who shook his head. "I checked, but for our guild rank, we can only wait for private missions or accept guard shift duties until we get promoted." So, why not venture out on their own? Honestly, the issue here was with their classes. At best, if they wanted to go out to look for corruption, they’d have to travel during the weekend, and that was barely enough time. They’re students, and Instructor Falco often reminded them of this. But how could he not when more than half his students vanished after the first month’s mercenary exams? Of course, he would panic at the thought of anyone getting killed because they took a shortcut into the missions. For a moment, the exasperated instructor thought of suggesting they disallow the freshmen from participating but figured that the Empire wouldn’t be conscripting if they weren’t this desperate. Fine, then. All the students just had to make sure to go to class especially when they did not have leave permits to show for. And that was how several students had been marooned in school. As for the private missions, Luca was actually a bit disappointed that they hadn’t gotten another client. But maybe if they had only found another weirdly named forum, then maybe they would’ve seen a different story. At first, they actually thought of asking the Duchy to commission them for something. However, Kyle warned that unless it was something only the five of them could do, then it’d look like a giant branding of nepotism on Luca’s forehead. And obviously, the Duke, who was hoping to run for father of the year, couldn’t stomach doing that. "Then, Host, does that mean that we just have to be known for something?" Asked D-29, who had been keeping its own tabs as minutes of the meeting. The little system saw the secretaries in the dramas doing it and made an effort to record and summarize the issue. It had to be the best secretary, or it might be replaced by that adjutant, Kyle. And what it had now was: ’More CP and more popularity.’ "Well, yes, but what could we be known for?" murmured Luca, thinking about how to be popular. And as the biggest loser in his past life, all he knew was how to gain infamy. How does one even become famous? Like his father, who seemed to be known everywhere. "Brother, we can actually be known for everything, including saving the world and good looks, but the problem is we’re also trying not to get kidnapped." "We’re too young to die," Ollie added as he shrugged at his proclaimed truth. And it was really true; his brother was insanely popular on Star Net because of the novellas that had been published about him and his giant wolf. But Ollie loved his life and could only keep it to himself. After all, it was one thing he had to check to make sure he was up to date with what the cute girls of today liked. And right now, it was his good brother, Luca. As expected. But Luca wasn’t feeling so popular or rich right now, and D-29 felt that it was the right time for its report. "Host, what about outsourcing?" chimed the little system who semi-practiced its pitch with Sid who had now memorized this proposal. "Outsourcing?" "Yes, Host! I have recently conducted an inventory and assessment of the upgraded Dungeon and came upon an interesting mechanism." "Oh! Really? What is it?" Luca sat straight, definitely curious about something that made his palms itch. It had been a long time, but he felt like he could hear that wonderful ’Ka-ching! Ka-ching!’ And the little money grubber couldn’t have been more right. D-29 felt like it was the perfect time and said, "It’s the Purification Chamber’s containment cubes." "You mean the new addition above ground?" "It’s that one, Host. But it’s not the chamber itself, but the containment cubes used on it." To explain better, D-29 prepared a prompt that showed an actual cube that had a similar coloration to that Purifying cannon but was much smaller. However, the display suddenly showed an instructional video in which the cube was placed in the middle and suddenly expanded to root into the ground. Then, with a pulse, started sucking up what looked like a liquid. Now, D-29 has gotten people standing up. Shock evident on their faces as this looked just like a mini robot vacuum. But D-29 wasn’t finished and continued to dazzle by showing how the same cube could store corrupted creatures and plant life for purification back in the chamber. "While designed for controlled purification, they should also function as temporary storage units. They won’t hold as much as what you can absorb directly, but they should allow others to collect corruption and bring it back for processing." Ended the little system, who put out another bit of confetti in the interface. Now, with this enough shock value, D-29 hoped that it could ask the Host for a teenie tiny favor.
