He had romaine lettuce, thinly sliced cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, and a handful of carrots. The dressing was nothing fancy; he only used olive oil, lemon juice, a bit of honey, salt, and pepper. But to everyone watching, it looked unreal as clearly, they’ve really been losing out all their lives. Eating just one carrot alone was already something for them, but here was Luca mixing up several vegetables that people wouldn’t even be aware of. Like, what were baby tomatoes, and why were they taken away from their parents? Jax was anxious the entire time until Luca decided to give the waiting dogs a bit of salad to sample. "I’m not sure if you’ll like it, but hopefully, it would be good enough to sell." Luca hesitated but served some extra salads he prepared while saving the rest for his brother and the people of the duchy. It was then that Jax reconsidered his opinions and heartaches about the suffering of the vegetables. If anything, he thought that it was a rather worthy sacrifice and felt that if he was a tomato, he would understand. However, they still couldn’t understand why Luca insisted on serving three items, saying he’d only feel better if they served at least a salad, a main course, and a dessert. Kyle and Xavier were actually one in thinking that some people didn’t deserve such blessings. They considered telling Luca to divide this glorious thing called roasted chicken into several parts. If anything, just a part would be enough to milk the rich, but Luca said that it was better presented this way. And what if they had families to feed? Xavier couldn’t tell if the little money grubber was consistently a money grubber or if he found joy in feeding the world. But Luca smiled and grinned as he cooked, and the highly tolerant husband figured that sometimes it was good to be appreciated with words. However, he thought it would be best if his little chipmunk received both praise and coins, so he thought a little marketing was in order.
