Chapter 223: Dark Mist Nobility
"Dark Mist Nobility!!!"
The mid-tier Black Sinners’ eyes went wide as dinner plates, looking completely floored.
That was the legendary Dark Mist Nobility!
No wonder the clan would move heaven and hell to rip open a portal and drop down—the payoff was that sweet!
Luckybe eyeballed these lackeys.
After hearing her spiel,
Every last one of them flushed red as a tomato, blood pumping, eyes blazing with greed, hunger, and bloodlust—clearly hooked by the beautiful future of becoming Dark Mist Nobility.
However,
Luckybe didn’t clue these underlings in that Dark Mist Nobility slots were limited.
Only those pulling major weight in the process would have a shot at getting rewarded by the dark mist will.
She let her crew chew on this for a bit, then rapped the table:
"But to become Dark Mist Nobility,
Besides torching a Material Realm, there’s another way."
"What!"
"Sir, what way?"
"..."
The bunch of mid-tier Black Sinners went nuts, dying to know the second method.
Having laid low in this Material Realm for so damn long,
They had some clue about human firepower.
Just with Black Sinner muscle alone, wiping out this Material Realm was gonna be a real bitch.
So hearing there was another route, they all got pumped up.
Luckybe’s face went completely fanatical:
"Demon King!
As long as our clan births a real Demon King,
Not just Dark Mist Nobility—even the higher tier Children of Dark Mist,
We got a shot at climbing that ladder!
Because... Dark Mist Nobility exists by kissing up to Demon Kings!
Every Demon King is the dark mist will’s right hand, wielding absolute control over their dark mist planes!"
"Holy shit!"
The Black Sinners in the room, hearing the Demon King’s inside scoop for the first time, went completely blank.
The Dark Mist Nobility they looked up to were just the Demon King’s boot-lickers.
This bombshell kept hammering their brains, leaving them speechless.
After a long stretch, finally one Black Sinner processed the news, eyes going crazy with excitement:
"Sir... boss,
What the hell are we waiting for!
Let’s haul ass and welcome the King’s return!"
This got every Black Sinner fired up:
"Damn right! Sir!
Screw the portal rituals!
Our clan’s Demon King being born is what matters!"
"...."
Luckybe threw up both hands, telling her crew to pipe down:
"Now,
Any of you idiots still bitching about delaying the plan?"
The Black Sinners all shook their heads,
Eyes blazing with excitement:
"Sir, just give us our marching orders—we’ll sacrifice everything for the King’s birth!"
In no time flat,
They got the picture.
As long as their clan’s Demon King successfully showed up,
As the Demon King’s blood, they’d have chances to become Dark Mist Nobility, even Children of Dark Mist.
This naked beautiful future made them go completely batshit.
Luckybe was eating up her underlings’ reaction.
All that jaw-flapping wasn’t for nothing—
Morale was through the roof!
The Demon King’s birth had one more shot at success!
"Now,
I got only one demand—
Drop everything you’re doing, spare no expense!
Make damn sure our King is born!!!"
"You got it, boss!"
...
Rock Sand City, Noble District, Residence No. 33.
"Willie, your fishing game is pretty solid."
By the sand lake,
Carlos chilled on a lounge chair under a big black umbrella,
Watching Security Officer Willie’s smooth fishing moves, he had to give props.
That casting arc was even slicker than Ginya’s!
"Young Master Carlos, you’re being too nice."
Willie looked at the stone bucket at his feet—empty as his wallet—his old face turning red with embarrassment.
He was scratching his head.
Back in the day when fishing with his crew, this wasn’t how he rolled.
After these dozen-plus casts, if not ten fish, at least five should’ve been flopping around.
What was up today?
Not one damn fish?
"Roar!"
"Chirp!"
"Pathetic!"
The three watching companions wore shit-eating grins.
Originally figured he was some fishing hotshot—turns out he’s just this lame?
Willie’s attention seemed glued to fishing but was actually keeping tabs on the three monsters.
He caught every word of the three companions’ trash talk.
"..."
His body went stiff as a board.
The monsters’ look-down-on-you stares
Cut deep into Willie’s ’fragile and sensitive’ old man pride.
Pathetic?
These three monsters were calling his fishing skills pathetic?
Instantly,
Willie’s brain filled with fire,
Roaring in his head:
’You know what
I’ve been swimming in quicksand since I was knee-high to a grasshopper!
Catching fish in sand lakes since I was five!
They called me the Sand Fish King at twelve!
My fishing technique is pure magic,
Always placing runner-up in Rock Sand City Security Officers’ Fishing Competition! (The Chief Security Officer always took first)
You actually call me pathetic!!!’
Willie sucked in a deep breath, battle-ready flames exploding from his beady eyes.
"Young Master Carlos,
Mind if I throw down with your three lackeys?"
"Throw down?"
Carlos looked at Willie.
Just some regular high-tier psychic—
Where’d the balls come from to challenge the companions?
All three of them, no less.
"Please let me do this!"
Willie bowed like his life depended on it.
He had to prove his fishing greatness!
"....Alright."
Carlos went with it.
He was curious as hell—
Had this old coot been hiding his strength?
Finally couldn’t hold back and was about to lose his shit?
"Roar?"
"Chirp?"
"Huh?
You want to take on all three?"
The three companions made confused noises,
Eyeing Willie with pure malice.
"You bet!
Today I’ll make you all understand—
Not everyone’s gonna take your crap!!!"
Willie showed zero fear, making his big declaration!
"Roar!"
"Chirp!"
"Haha!"
Hearing this,
The three companions immediately felt like someone had slapped them.
Terrifying power instantly exploded.
Wind and clouds went crazy,
The sky changed colors in a heartbeat.
Dark Purple Force Field, blood-red flames, Withering Domain pressed down on Willie.
They wanted to see what kind of stones this human had to mouth off to all three at once!!!
Crushing pressure slammed into him. Willie’s face went white as snow, realizing the three monsters had gotten the wrong idea:
"Stop!
No!
You got it all wrong!"
He frantically explained:
"Not that kind of throwdown!
It’s fishing!
Fishing!
Not fighting!
A fishing contest!"
Three devastating attacks were about to connect. In this do-or-die moment,
Willie used his lifetime’s fastest talking to scream these words!
"Roar?"
"Chirp?"
"Fishing?"
The three great companions pulled their punches.
Fighting was cool, but fishing... well...
Quietly backing down,
They turned and obediently parked themselves next to their master.
Acting like they hadn’t heard jack shit.
"...."
Having dodged a bullet by the skin of his teeth,
Security Officer Willie’s back was soaked in sweat. He didn’t dare mention any contest again, burying his head in solo fishing.
Carlos took a casual sip of tea:
’So it was that kind of contest.
The companions really do seem outmatched.’
Looking up at the sun:
"By my count, sis should roll in today."
There was definitely a mole inside Rock Sand City—no getting around that.
But the captured Black Sinners’ bullshit story,
Carlos wasn’t buying—nine times out of ten it was the mole’s smoke screen.
Playing it safe,
After sis showed up, he’d handle it.
Security Officer Willie, just keep fishing here!
You seem to be having a ball.
