Chapter 171: The Collision Golden Sand Society Main Hall Salimo sliced off a thin strip of meat and tossed it into the air. The wolf-headed parrot flapped its wings, snatching the meat before it could hit the ground, gulping it down in a few quick bites as its feathers slowly grew back. "Salimo, living the good life, I see? Even got time to spoil your pets." Somewhere in the room, a woman had showed up out of nowhere, her face hidden behind a layer of dark mist that completely obscured her features. Salimo barely lifted his head, his eyes flickering: "Luckybe, no point playing hide-and-seek with me. Is our plan wrapped up?" Hearing this, the dark mist around the woman’s face melted away, revealing a completely ordinary face. "Keh wa wa! Keh wa wa!" The old man’s words somehow struck the woman as hilarious, making her burst into waves of creepy laughter that didn’t sound human at all—more like a crow cawing. Her smile was incredibly stiff, like she was deliberately trying to copy something. Seeing this bizarre display, Salimo stopped feeding and felt his skin crawl: ’Black Sinners really are all nutjobs. Even crazier than the traitors!’ "Keh keh keh, you humans crack me up! ’Our’... ’our’ plan?" Luckybe was laughing so hard she could barely stand straight. Hearing this, Salimo finally got what this thing was laughing about. His face went dark as thunder: "You’re not planning to stick to our deal?" He slammed his staff down hard. High-tier psionic energy exploded from within, waves of pure malice attacking the mocking woman. Facing all that dense hatred, Luckybe wasn’t fazed one bit. She straightened up, the corners of her mouth stretching way too wide. "Oops, old timer. Almost forgot you’re about to join our little family." Despite her words, neither her tone nor her expression showed even a hint of being sorry. Salimo’s face got even darker. This creature had actually forgotten. "I’m starting to wonder if teaming up with you was a smart move. Maybe the traitors would’ve been better partners." His voice carried a clear threat. Luckybe’s mouth stretched into another creepy smile, her eyeballs glowing red. "Old timer, you thinking about double-crossing us?" Her tone was ice-cold. Pitch-black mist started rising. Her head actually turned into a red-eyed crow. Vicious, bloodthirsty killing intent spread through the air, and the temperature in the hall instantly dropped several degrees. "Are you kidding me? Double-cross?" Salimo’s old face showed pure disbelief. Did this monster even understand what "joking around" meant? Did it get the whole concept of trust between partners? "With all the crap I’ve pulled, you think I’ve got anywhere else to go?" Luckybe touched her chin, picking up on the nasty stench coming off this old man’s soul, and couldn’t help nodding: "Yeah, fair point." Luckybe’s eyeballs rolled as something occurred to her, and she chuckled: "Keh wa wa. Regular humans or your so-called ’human traitors’ would want to rip you apart after finding out you helped our clan, right?" Salimo’s already dark face got even blacker, but this Black Sinner was dead on. Once word got out, forget the human leadership—even the human traitors wouldn’t let him live. Black Sinners were nothing like human traitors. They were aliens. Monster clans from some unknown dark mist dimension. Ever since they’d shown up in the Material Realm, they’d been scheming to crack open passages between worlds. Over the years, through human intel gathering on Black Sinners, they’d figured out these aliens were completely corrupted by dark mist to their core. Slaughtering life was burned into their very essence. Once those passages opened, Black Sinner clans would come pouring into the Material Realm like a flood, unleashing absolutely terrifying wars. Even the human traitors didn’t want the Black Sinner schemes to succeed. After all, they wanted to ’guide’ all humans into voluntarily embracing dark mist to ’save humanity,’ not wipe out humanity completely! "When does this thing kick off?" By now, Salimo truly was stuck between a rock and a hard place. But he didn’t have a choice. From the garrison’s end, there was actually a wanted notice out for Lezhe’s squad working with the Black Poison Faction, even for murdering his right-hand man Philomei? Years of staying alive had taught him to smell a setup from a mile away. "Keh keh keh, foolproof. This time ’we’ caught someone really special. Perfect for carrying Lord Withered’s power." Black Sinner Luckybe’s voice was buzzing with excitement. This plan was absolutely perfect and running smooth as silk. Whether it was ritual prep or hunting down the Demon King’s vessel, everything was going better than they’d ever dreamed without a single hitch. "Speaking of which, we owe you big time for the intel you handed over." This old geezer had been absolutely crucial to making this plan work. "So... when do I get my makeover?" The Luckybe standing in front of him had straight-up told him their clan could transform other creatures into Black Sinners. "Don’t get your hopes up too fast. When Lord Withered shows up, you’ll get exactly what you’re after!" After saying that, Luckybe spun around and walked off without waiting for Salimo’s reaction. Salimo kept feeding the wolf-headed parrot: ’Better... better keep your word... or else...’ Deep in his old eyes, crimson madness flickered. By now, he’d thrown everything he had on the table. ... Luckybe strolled out of the Golden Sand Society base, glancing back with contempt: ’That disgusting soul actually thinks it deserves to become one of us?’ She turned around with zero expression and headed down the main road... She happened to run smack into Carlos and the garrison soldiers. "This... this is!!!" In a heartbeat, Luckybe was shaking with excitement. In her ’demon eye’ vision, a blazing soul appeared, flickering with incredibly brilliant light and giving off an almost infinitely perfect aura. "What... what an amazing soul!!!" Dimly, she seemed to see a brilliantly glowing crimson-gold sun rising up. At the same time, the sun’s pitch-black reflection appeared on the spiritual sea, the two perfectly balancing each other out.
