Thomas Shannon’s lips curved slightly as he smiled indifferently. "Mm."At noon, Sophie Sullivan woke up.
Her eyes were still dry. She got up to wash, change her clothes, and then went downstairs.
"Maniac, lunch is ready. Do you want to eat now?"
"Mm, I’m hungry." Sophie walked straight to the restaurant.
Seeing two sets of tableware laid out, she frowned. "Is Thomas Shannon here too?"
"Yes, Young Master is in the study upstairs."
Sophie nodded, not saying anything more.
Speak of the devil, and he shall appear.
Thomas Shannon strode into the palace style restaurant. His tall, elegant figure, handsome face, and stately posture were a perfect complement to the room.
The man seemed like a prince who had stepped out of European Medieval Royalty, every movement exuding an innate, distinguished air.
"Staring?" Thomas Shannon raised a finger and tapped lightly on her head.
Feeling a twinge of pain, Sophie shot him an annoyed stare before looking away. It was clear she was in low spirits.
During the meal, there was no communication between them. Only the sound of cups and plates clinking filled the spacious restaurant.
After lunch, Thomas Shannon raised his hand, and Charlie River brought two cups of water.
Thomas Shannon handed one cup to Sophie and took a sip from his own. "Drink some water. I’ll take you somewhere later."
"What place?" Sophie, not suspecting anything, took the cup and drank a few sips.
"An interesting place."
Thomas Shannon feigned mystery, but Sophie was unimpressed. Resting her cheek in her hand, she slanted her eyes at him. "Are you apologizing to me because of those things?"
"You can think of it that way."
"Ha ha, that’s rare."
Thomas Shannon took a napkin, wiped the corner of his mouth, and chuckled softly. "Stop talking so sarcastically. You know I don’t like it."
Sophie waved her hand dismissively, stood up, and left the table.
Thomas Shannon followed closely. One hand went around her slender waist, pulling her soft, delicate body toward him. The latest_epɪ_sodes are on_the ⓝovelFire.net
Sophie felt her head grow a little drowsy, and she leaned the full weight of her body against him.
Thomas Shannon guided her upstairs and into a dimly lit audio-visual room.
Inside the audio-visual room, the main lights were off; only a small, dim yellow lamp was lit.
The spacious audio-visual room was poorly lit and dark.
Sophie touched her forehead. "Thomas Shannon, is this the ’interesting place’ you mentioned?"
How boring!
If he wanted to watch a movie, he should have just said so. She would have refused him.
"You’ll see in a bit."
Thomas Shannon helped her sit down on the sofa, letting her lean her body against his.
Sophie’s head felt heavy and drowsy. As she leaned into his embrace, she closed her eyes. Unknowingly, her consciousness began to drift.
Seeing her drowsy and seemingly about to fall asleep, Thomas Shannon raised his hand. Charlie River, understanding the gesture, immediately brought in the hypnotist.
Their footsteps were very light, making almost no sound on the expensive flooring.
The hypnotist nodded to Thomas Shannon and made an inviting gesture.
Thomas Shannon released Sophie. Losing his support, she groggily opened her eyes.
In a daze, her gaze met a pair of unfamiliar eyes.
She wanted to look away, but... whose voice was that, speaking softly near her ear?
Whose voice was that, so gentle?
"You are very tired now. You are walking a most arduous path, a path overgrown with thorns and prowled by ferocious beasts... There is no one beside you, and you are exhausted... You need to rest for a while before you can continue on your journey... Now, before you lies a field of lush green Grassland."
