She wouldn’t get angry. She would wait patiently for him to discover who he truly loved. She would wait patiently for him to recognize his own heart and figure out who his true love was. Amelia Shaw’s heart was filled with sweetness; even the air around her seemed to carry a sweet fragrance.
Thomas Shannon arrived at the equestrian center but didn’t see Sophie Sullivan. Instead, he saw an anxious servant waiting.
"Young Master, you’re here!"
"Where’s the maniac?"
"The maniac took Gabriel to the horse stable, and... and wouldn’t let us follow," the servant said cautiously.
Thomas Shannon glared at them as if looking at useless people, "She didn’t let you follow, so you just stood here foolishly?"
"I’m sorry, Young Master!" The servant apologized with a 90-degree bow.
Thomas Shannon snorted coldly and strode towards the horse stable like a meteor.
He was afraid that if he was too late, the maniac, in a fit of rage, might actually kill his Gabriel to vent her anger.
He found Sophie Sullivan in the stable, playing with Gabriel’s mane, and he sighed with relief.
Seeing his master, Gabriel raised its head and neighed.
Thomas Shannon approached Gabriel, touched its face, then looked up at Sophie Sullivan on horseback. "Had enough fun?"
"Look how scared you are," Sophie Sullivan sneered. "You can protect Amelia Shaw all you want, but I won’t do anything to the innocent Gabriel."
Thomas Shannon’s handsome face darkened. "Who was it that said they wanted to eat horse meat and kill Gabriel?"
"Who?" Sophie blinked, feigning innocence.
The maidservant nearby was on the verge of tears. *It was you who said it, Maniac! Don’t deny it!*
Knowing she was in a bad mood, Thomas Shannon withdrew the hand stroking Gabriel’s face. "Do you want to go out and have fun for a few days?"
"To compensate me?"
The man’s brows, which had finally relaxed, furrowed tightly again. Couldn’t she just let go of this matter?
He would deal with Amelia Shaw, just not now.
Her constant provocations made her seem extremely unreasonable.
"If you don’t want to, then get down."
"I won’t." Sophie Sullivan braided Gabriel’s mane into several small plaits and pinned the small flower she had tucked behind her ear onto one of the braids.
Patting Gabriel’s neck, Sophie Sullivan laughed. "Such a beautiful little girl."
Thomas Shannon growled, "Gabriel is male!"
"I don’t care."
Sophie deliberately antagonized him. "I think he’s beautiful, so he’s a little girl!"
Thomas Shannon sneered coldly. "As if you’re mentally handicapped."
"Thomas Shannon, don’t make personal attacks!"
"Get down." Thomas Shannon grabbed her wrist and, when she was completely unprepared, pulled her off horseback.
Her feet landed firmly on the ground. Before Sophie Sullivan could break free from his grip, he was already pulling her away.
"Thomas Shannon, where are you taking me?"
"Taking you away from here. Stop tormenting my horse."
Sophie Sullivan was speechless.
Looks like you’re quite farsighted after all, she thought.
Thomas Shannon was tall with long legs, and his strides were large and quick. Sophie Sullivan, whose wrist he gripped, was forced to jog to keep up.
After jogging for a while, Sophie Sullivan was panting from exhaustion. "Thomas Shannon, I can’t go on..."
"This is what you get for not exercising regularly. You’re as weak as a sick cat."
She can’t even run a few steps. He had never seen a woman weaker than her!
Although he sounded disdainful, Thomas Shannon still slowed his pace to match hers.
