Thomas Shannon lowered his gaze, clearly seeing the fleeting ruthlessness in her eyes. She was indeed not a gentle house cat but a defiant wild horse. He began to doubt the validity of her jealousy theory. From her eyes, he couldn’t see even a hint of affection for him. All he could see and feel was her ferocious intent to kill him. What couldn’t a woman with such audacity accomplish?"You maniac, you still have time to let go, before I get angry."
Thomas Shannon’s voice was low and deep, carrying an inherent authority. The cold aura emanating from him was enough to intimidate anyone.
Sophie Sullivan breathed slowly. "I could let go, but only if you promise me first that you’ll stop threatening me."
"Are you bargaining with me?" Thomas Shannon raised one hand and, in her moment of distraction, pried her hand from his neck.
Sophie only felt a sharp pain in her fingers, and the next second, she lost her grip. She watched helplessly as he easily pried her hand from his neck.
Thomas Shannon seized her hands, twisting them behind her back. "You’re truly disobedient, maniac."
"Thomas Shannon, let me go!" Sophie cried out as he pressed her down, forcing her body to bend at the waist, her head hanging low.
"I gave you a chance. You just didn’t appreciate it."
Thomas Shannon held her in this position, urging, "Go."
"Let go, I’m uncomfortable..."
"You brought this on yourself. Endure it."
Sophie was genuinely in distress. Bent at the waist, her arms tightly twisted behind her back, blood rushed to her drooping head. She felt a wave of dizziness, and the next second, her body swayed, and she nearly fell.
Thomas Shannon swiftly grabbed her wrist, pulling her tilting body back. Sophie’s vision went black, her legs gave out, and she collapsed to the ground. Thomas Shannon released her hands as she fell, and Sophie’s body slumped limply.
Her eyelids fluttered, and she gasped for breath. Thomas Shannon squatted beside her. The dazzling fiery cloud in the sky served as his most beautiful backdrop. With the beautiful scenery as a backdrop, even his deep, cold voice seemed distant and unreal.
"What’s wrong with you?"
Sophie didn’t respond, her eyelids fluttering shut.
Thomas Shannon swept her up into his arms and strode quickly towards the car. "Back to the manor!"
"Yes, Young Master!"
「Medical office.」
The doctor administered an IV to Sophie. She lay on the sickbed, still unconscious.
"How is the maniac?"
"There’s nothing seriously wrong, Young Master, don’t worry. She was just frightened, and her nerves were overwrought. She’ll recover with some proper rest," the doctor explained.
Thomas Shannon nodded lightly. His gaze fell on Sophie’s face, and only then did he feel a sense of relief.
When George Stanford heard Sophie had fainted, he made a special trip over. He leaned towards the sickbed, carefully examining her face. Only after confirming her face had sustained no external injuries did he heave a long sigh of relief. Chapters fırst released on ????????????????????⟡????????????????⟡????????????
"Thank heavens, at least this face wasn’t harmed."
George Stanford then looked at the silent Thomas Shannon, his gaze shifting back and forth between him and the unconscious Sophie, scrutinizing them. His gaze was direct and unabashed.
Thomas Shannon frowned impatiently. "What is it?"
George Stanford felt aggrieved. His attitude was so much better when he needed me to perform the surgery!
