The men in black disembarked from the cabin in unison, heading for the swimming pool floor. The entire floor was sealed off; no one was allowed in or out. Men in black surrounded the hotel from top to bottom, a scene comparable to a Hollywood blockbuster.
Upon learning that one of Young Master Shannon’s people had gone missing in the hotel, the president was so terrified his legs gave out on the spot. Constantly wiping away cold sweat, he declared his full cooperation with Young Master Shannon’s investigation.
Surveillance footage from the hotel and nearby roads showed that Sophie Sullivan had not left the hotel. So... she was still in the hotel; she hadn’t left. Now, they could almost rule out the possibility that she had deliberately escaped.
Thomas Shannon received the news and came over from the club instantly. His menacing presence arrived at the swimming pool. His cold eyes, full of malice, swept over the people standing together by the pool. The timid children were already so frightened by him that they were sobbing, shrinking behind their parents.
So the maniac disappeared here?
Thomas Shannon’s lips curled into a bloodthirsty sneer. "Whoever has seen this woman, step forward."
Charlie River held up a photo of the maniac. It was a screenshot from the surveillance footage, hastily printed.
An unnerving silence fell. A living person had appeared at the swimming pool, yet no one dared admit to seeing her.
Thomas Shannon nodded slightly. "Very well! Excellent!"
"Charlie River!"
"Young Master, here I am!"
"Take out your gun and empty the magazine."
By "empty the magazine," Thomas Shannon meant for Charlie River to fire all the bullets in it. As for who to shoot, that was up to Charlie River’s discretion.
Charlie River pulled out his pistol, quickly loaded it, and aimed it at someone in the crowd. "Sorry," he said.
Just as his index finger was about to pull the trigger, a man well over six feet tall suddenly collapsed, his legs giving out as he dropped heavily to his knees with a thud.
"No, don’t kill me!" The man trembled violently. "I’ll talk... I’ll talk! I saw this woman; she appeared with that man..."
The large man pointed to a man in a white T-shirt and black clothing. "She came with him. Later, he disappeared, and I don’t know where the woman went either."
"Are you sure?" Charlie River nonchalantly weighed the pistol in his hand.
The large man nodded quickly. "That woman was so beautiful... I couldn’t help but stare at her."
"How did she disappear?"
"I don’t know. She was just gone in the blink of an eye."
Gone in the blink of an eye?
Thomas Shannon snatched the pistol from Charlie River, aimed at the man’s shoulder, and fired.
The unsilenced pistol let out a deafening report—BANG!
Children and women shrieked, their cries of terror and anguish filling the air. Blood gushed from the man’s shoulder as he crumpled to the ground.
Thomas Shannon’s brow furrowed. "I’m giving you all five more minutes. After five minutes, if no one tells me what I want to know, you will all... get a taste of K Group’s bullets."
In Country S, arms dealers were never short of weapons and bullets. The reason Thomas Shannon was known as the ’Living King of Hell’ was because anyone who displeased him would receive an invitation to Hell itself from the Grim Reaper.
"Four minutes and thirty-nine seconds..." Charlie River began the countdown.
From the crowd, a voice suddenly interjected, "Tell me, where did you get so much money?"
"Mum, can we please talk about this when we get home?" pleaded a little boy, his voice small and pitiful, choked with unshed tears.
In the vast, silent swimming pool, his small voice was clearly audible to everyone.
Thomas Shannon’s cold eyes darkened. "Charlie River, bring them out."
