Amelia Shaw was under immense pressure. This was a gamble, and the stake was herself. If she won, she would win Thomas Shannon. If she lost... she might lose her life.
She followed Frank Mitchell’s instructions and went back to bed. She needed to sleep well, to let her frayed nerves relax.
She hoped that when she woke up, she would hear good news.

When Sophie Sullivan went out, she only brought a driver and one bodyguard.
The butler wanted to assign more bodyguards for her protection, but she refused.
She was already conspicuous enough wearing a mask. With several more men in black clothes following her, wouldn’t she scare any children nearby?
At Sophie Sullivan’s repeated insistence, the black-clothed bodyguard reluctantly changed into a white T-shirt.
Now, apart from his rather frightening, expressionless face, he didn’t look so terrifying anymore.
When she arrived at the shopping center, Sophie Sullivan was fuming. Since Thomas Shannon dared to give her his supplementary card, he couldn’t blame her for going all out.
Sophie Sullivan entered one luxury boutique after another with a bodyguard.
Whatever caught her eye, her delicate fingers would point: "Those, those, and those—wrap them all up for me."
"Yes, yes, yes, please wait a moment."
She decisively swiped the card and had the man in black provide the manor’s address for delivery.
Sophie Sullivan then moved on to the next store. She continued her shopping spree for over an hour. Looking at the thick stack of receipts in her hand, Sophie Sullivan finally felt a little better.
At this moment, Thomas Shannon’s mobile phone kept buzzing with transaction notifications.
Each transaction was for over a million.
In just over an hour, the maniac had already squandered tens of millions. And there was no sign of her stopping...
Thomas Shannon chuckled and made a call.
The man in black answered the phone, his expression extremely respectful. "Yes, Young Master, please wait a moment."
The man in black handed the mobile phone to the maniac, who had just paid for some jewelry and was signing the receipt.
"Maniac, Young Master is looking for you."
Sophie Sullivan put down the pen and took the mobile phone with one hand, her voice tinged with a lazy fatigue. "Feeling the pinch?"
He himself had the butler give her the supplementary card. How she used it now depended entirely on her mood, didn’t it? She had only spent this much, and he was already calling. What a stingy man! What was that saying? The wealthier people are, the stingier they become. Sophie Sullivan hadn’t believed it before, but now she was convinced. Thomas Shannon was exactly that kind of person—extremely stingy!
"How much money have you spent?" Thomas Shannon’s voice carried a hint of light laughter.
He wasn’t as enraged or furious as Sophie Sullivan had imagined. She pursed her lips, finding it incredibly dull. This didn’t even make him angry?
"Not much, just under 100 million."
"Keep it up. Try to break 100 million."
Sophie Sullivan: "..."
Thomas Shannon, is that something you should be saying?! Shouldn’t you be clutching your heart in agony, cursing her out for being a materialistic spendthrift?! Thomas Shannon’s encouraging tone was truly bizarre.
Sophie Sullivan shivered. "Thomas Shannon, are you setting another trap for me?"
"Maniac, don’t assume the worst of people."
"Sorry, but when dealing with a beastly rascal like you, I can only see you as a devious, wicked person."
Thomas Shannon: "..."
What an ungrateful little creature!
He slowly exhaled a long breath of turbid air, adjusted his position, and leaned back comfortably on the sofa. "So, tell me, what did you buy?"
