He gazed ahead, his eyes fixed on the horizon. The system’s map imposed over his vision, indicating that he was drawing closer to the location of the two women. He noticed, with a hint of surprise in his face, that the pace of those who had taken his two wives had been remarkably swift, covering a significant amount of ground during his short conversation with the three men. The landscape shifted, and the buildings grew taller and closer together. The Berad Beast’s paws pounded the paved street as they entered the city, and Dave’s gaze was drawn to a large billboard standing sentinel at the entrance. "Welcome to the City of Whales," it read, the letters bold and faded. Dave’s eyes lingered on the sign before moving on to take in the sights of the city. His expression remained calm, as his eyes continually scanned the cityscape with interest. "Let’s see why a lot of people are trying so hard to get into the city," he murmured to himself, his voice lost to the mesmerizing sight of the city. The City of Whales was a marvel unlike anything Dave had seen before. Towering skyscrapers stretched toward the sky, their peaks shrouded in mist. The buildings seemed to be a mix of residential and commercial areas, though the meteor’s impact was evident in the damage and debris that scattered everywhere. Many of the tall buildings showed signs of structural compromise, with most of their windows shattered, and their walls cracked as well. As Dave guided the Berad Beast through the city streets, the three men tied behind him stumbled and staggered, their faces set in grim determination. The undead beasts followed closely, their eyes still fixed on their quarry. The contrast between Dave’s town and the city was stark. In his town, houses stood nestled among lush gardens, their white picket fences swaying gently in the breeze. Each home had its own personal garage, a cozy space for the family’s vehicle. But here, in the city, the landscape was dominated by towering buildings and sleek hotels, their steel and glass exteriors glinting in the dark. As Dave rode the Berad Beast through the city streets, he couldn’t help but feel a pang of nostalgia for the peaceful atmosphere of his town. Despite the challenges they faced, his town still had a certain charm to it. And thanks to the small establishments that dotted its landscape. The occasional casino or motel added a touch of vibrancy, making his town a place where people could find some respite. But the city was a different story altogether. The streets were a whirlwind of activity, with beasts emerging from alleys and side streets like specters. The trio’s desperate screams and shouts had drawn them in, and now they were closing in on their location. Dave’s eyes scanned the horizon, his grip on the Berad Beast tightening as he guided it through the streets. Just like in the other parts of the world, the street was flooded with the rotting fleshes of beasts and humans. Also, laying around the floor were parts of different buildings which had been damaged by beasts and the meteor. The beasts moved with a fluidity that was both mesmerizing and terrifying. They seemed to own the city, as they roam around, their movements unhindered by the presence of humans. And in this city, it seemed that only the strongest survived. The weak were preyed upon, their fate sealed in mere seconds. And unless you are well prepared, you will end up becoming a food to these beasts. It was just as Jackie said, the cities were the most dangerous of all places you can choose to want to hide. Due to the population of the humans present there, more meteor fell into the cities than in other areas. And also, because of this, many humans had ended up losing their lives on the first day of the apocalypse. A large wave of beasts overwhelmed everyone, killing them with brutality before they could even think of defending themselves. Because of this, human had to use their initiative just so they could survive. It wasn’t up to a week when they discovered many things. Those with abilities realized that they have powers. Those with super strength and superspeed also came to the discovery. And now, everyone was doing their best to survive the apocalypse. As Dave rode the Berad Beast through the street, beasts of various shapes and sizes emerged from the city’s alleys and side streets. But upon catching sight of the undead army marching behind Dave, they swiftly retreated, their movements fluid and fearful. It was clear they had no desire to become prey for the larger, more formidable beasts. A smile spread across Dave’s face as he watched the beasts scurry away. "I guess these beasts are smart enough to know they stand no chance against this army," he mused, his voice low and amused. "Especially since all of them are under my command." With that, he continued on his journey, the Berad Beast’s massive strides continue eating up the distance. The trio behind him, still tied to the beast, stumbled and staggered, their screams for help growing hoarse. Their legs were beginning to give out, their speed faltering as exhaustion set in. But just as it seemed they might become the beasts’ next meal, Dave raised a hand, and the undead army ceased their pursuit. Instead, they all fell into step behind the men, their eyes fixed on them with an unnerving intensity. The men, still on high alert, noticed the sudden change in the beasts’ behavior. They eyed them warily, expecting some hidden trap or sudden attack. But as they glanced around, they realized the Berad Beast had slowed to a walk, and the beasts behind them were doing the same. It was then they took in their surroundings and saw the towering buildings of the city. Their eyes widened as recognition dawned. They were in the city where their leader resided, and Dave was heading straight for their base as he was passing the area they knew all too well. Without any guidance, he seemed to know exactly where he was going. He didn’t even interrogate them to find out where their leader was, yet he knew. The men’s minds reeled as they struggled to comprehend the implications. This man, who seemed to command an army of beasts with a mere thought, was indeed a force to be reckoned with. Their belief in his godly nature solidified, and they could only wonder what lay ahead of them.
