Inside the car, I turned to him. "I’ll stop by the restaurant," I said. "I still need to check on a few things before closing." He nodded. "That’s fine. I also need to handle something real quick. I’ll be back before late night." I didn’t think much of it and just smiled. "Okay. Don’t stay out too late." When we arrived at my restaurant, his driver pulled over, and I stepped out, waving at Evric through the window. "See you later, babe." He winked and smiled before the car drove off.
