Chapter 52: My wife doesn’t drink alcohol. Bring her Milk "Yes," A slight smile curled the corner of Camilla’s mouth. "I am Camilla." However, upon closer examination, one could see that her smile did not reach her eyes. She recognized that this woman, clad in a black miniskirt with a sweet appearance, was Melissa. Taylor’s younger sister, and also a friend of Sandra. She was uncertain if this Melissa was involved when Sandra had harmed her in her previous life. Therefore, she did not hold an intention to form a friendship. Sinclair noticed the concealed hostility in Melissa’s words, and his eyes glanced at her. Upon meeting Sinclair’s deep, penetrating gaze, Melissa’s heart skipped a beat. Before she could comprehend what was happening, a pleasing smile was already present on her face towards Camilla, who was standing next to Sinclair. "Sister-in-law, I am Melissa, feel free to call me Lisa." I am sorry Sandra. "I’m too scared of Sinclair, don’t blame me." Taylor, looked at his sister showing obsequiousness towards Sinclair, his handsome, pale face painted with both helplessness and nonchalance. Melissa has always been afraid of Sinclair since her childhood. Over the years, this fear cannot be cured. Camilla, looking at Taylor, whose thoughts were all over her face, some coldness in his eyes dissipated. "Okay." "Sinclair," Calvin, spoke at the right time, smiling. "Aren’t you going to introduce us?" He had clearly seen the warning glance Sinclair had given Camilla earlier. Already showing favoritism, and they’ve only been married a few days? Sinclair glanced coldly at his two friends, walked over to the main seat with his arm around Camilla. He naturally pulled out the chair, allowing Camilla to sit down. Only then did he gracefully take a seat by the side. Calvin: ? Taylor: They exchanged glances, both seeing surprises in each other’s eyes. When did this cold and indifferent man, Sinclair, become so gentlemanly? Melissa was dumbfounded. "Calvin, Taylor, and you already know the other one," Sinclair’s voice was deep. "This is my wife, Camilla." Melissa: ... She was that person whom Camilla already knew and didn’t need an introduction. Camilla slightly nodded. Her beautiful eyes, with a trace of a soft smile, assessed the two men. Calvin, dressed in a grey suit and leaning against his chair, looked even more handsome than she remembered. Long, peach-blossom eyes, a high, prominent nose, and cool, thin lips. Although his good looks were androgynous, he exuded a strong, masculine aura. No one would ever associate him with the word "woman." Beside him, Taylor, in a deep blue suit, was equally as handsome. "But those eyes, always carrying a faint smile, gave a sense of undisturbed serenity. Just that his face, was a bit pale. Seems like he is not in good health. When a case came up, a hint of interest flickered in Camilla’s eyes. "Come," Calvin raised his drink first, and smiled at Sinclair and Camilla. "To the joy of your new marriage." "Thank you," Just as Camilla was about to raise her glass, a large distinctively knuckled hand held her back. "Camilla can’t hold her liquor." Sinclair removed the button by his hand, and the waiter waiting outside immediately walked in. "Bring the milk." He didn’t want other men to see Camilla after she drank. "Yes, Mr. Luther." The waiter nodded, just about to leave. "Wait," Sinclair looked up, speaking again. "Make it warm." A delicate blush spread across Camilla’s face while her heart swelled with sweetness. Of course, she knew why her sweetheart wanted warm milk. Was he showing off their love in front of all these singletons? That’s too much! Calvin, faintly arched an eyebrow. A hint of amusement appeared on Taylor’s face. The astonishment in Melissa’s eyes never faded. Is this the Sinclair she knew? "Mr. Luther" The waiter quickly brought over the milk and placed it in front of Sinclair. "Here’s the milk you ordered." Drinking milk at such a place where people usually indulge in wine? Indeed, he didn’t understand the world of the wealthy. Sinclair tested the temperature of the milk before handing it to Camilla. Even though this was a detail that couldn’t be more minutes. All three gazes gather on them, making it hard to go unnoticed. "Geez," Calvin’s slender peach blossom eyes narrowed slightly in a teasing manner. "With just the food, it looks like you’re all filled up, so it seems you won’t be needing the alcohol." Feeling teased, Camilla turned a bit shy, she turned to look at Sinclair and lifted her glass of milk to clink with Calvin’s. "Thank you for your blessings." Sinclair hooked up the corner of his lips, he also lifted his drink and clinked it against the others. "When--" Camilla sipped a bit, while Sinclair and Calvin drained their cups in one go. "One round is not enough," Calvin was clearly not satisfied, he looked at Sinclair and laughed. "Your wife can’t drink, you have to drink for her." As he spoke, he poured more liquor into Sinclair’s cup. Sinclair glanced at Camilla, his thin lips lifted slightly. He then picked up the cup without any hesitation and downed it in one gulp. The light reflecting from his cup shone in his eyes, as glittering as the stars. Was he usually so amenable? Opportunities must not be lost, and time will never return. For so many years, he had not seen what Sinclair looked like when drunk. A cunning look flashed in the eyes of Calvin as he picked up his cup again. "Undoubted love," Sinclair calmly picked up his cup. As if it were a routine, he had another two drinks. But Calvin wasn’t ready to let him off the hook yet. The third cup was brought to the table. "May you have a baby soon." Was he trying to get Sinclair drunk? Camilla lifted her cup with slightly furrowed brows, worry flashed from the depths of her eyes. Sinclair noticed her expression, extended his other hand and gently pressed her palm to comfort her. He knew Calvin’s drinking capacity all too well. Even three wouldn’t phase him. Camilla finally felt at ease. After downing the third consecutive drink, Calvin, decided to take a break, leaning back in his chair, his mesmerizing eyes gleaming. Everybody was taken aback by Calvin’s sudden move. Sinclair put down his cup, tilting his head to look at Camilla. Seeing a drop of milk at the corner of her lips, his deep eyes seemed slightly heavier. He then extended his slender and fair finger, wiping away that drop of milk. Sinclair’s fingers gently brushed across Camilla’s lips for a moment, barely noticeable. If there were no outsiders present, Sinclair wouldn’t be using his hand. Sinclair’s actions were natural, yet Camilla couldn’t help blushing. She glanced up at him with her beautiful eyes, feigning indignation at her husband. A hint of a smug smile played at the corners of Sinclair’s mouth. "Tsk tsk," Calvin could only feel his teeth on edge. He turned his head towards Taylor and laughed. "Sinclair, is showing his love in front of us. Can you tolerate it?" "I can’t," Taylor understood his friend’s meaning and responded in his soft and friendly voice. "But my body doesn’t allow it, so I have to bear with it." As he spoke, an expression of helpless love spread onto his face. Thinking about Taylor’s physical condition, Calvin had no choice but to give up. He turned his head to Melissa with a smile, "Melissa, you can always help me, right?". With the peach blossom eyes lighting up in amusement, his gaze seemed to carry deep affection regardless of the recipient. "Can, must be able to!!" The moment Calvin sets his gaze on her, Melissa can’t resist at all. "Calvin, I’ll help you deal with Sinclair!" Before Taylor has the chance to stop her, Melissa has already raised his wine glass to Sinclair and Camilla. "Sinclair, sister-in-law, here’s to you!!" While toasting, there’s a sense of gallant self-sacrifice. Camilla lifts her milk in front of her, a faint smile appears on her face. Needless to say, Melissa is quite adorable. "Sinclair, you can’t play favorites," Melissa said seriously. "You drank two drinks at once with Brother Calvin, you should do the same with me." Speaking, she turned her head to look at Camilla. "Sister-in-law, isn’t that right?" At this moment, Melissa, who only thought of helping Calvin, was no longer concerned about taking sides. Camilla gave Sinclair a glance and agreed with a smile. Sinclair glanced at Calvin indifferently and picked up his drink. Several drinks followed one after another. Sinclair still maintained his cool and elegant demeanor, not even his face was flushed. However, Melissa was clearly showing signs of drunkenness. Her attention, unknowingly shifted from Sinclair to Calvin. "Brother Calvin, what kind of girl do you actually like?" All of Melissa’s feelings were so apparent as though they were written all over her face. Calvin, paused slightly, his peach-blossom eyes narrowing slightly. There’s a distinct feeling of self-entrapment. Camilla, propped her head on her hand, her eyes gleaming with amusement, thoroughly enjoying the show. Sinclair didn’t like that Camilla’s attention was on others, and immediately stretched out his hand to wrap around her waist, pulling her towards him. "Melissa," Taylor, lifted his gaze, speaking timely. "You’re drunk." He certainly knew his sister’s intentions. But a person like Calvin wasn’t someone she could hold down. "Brother, don’t say anything!" Clearly, alcohol does embolden the timid, Taylor frowned, interrupting her brother’s words. Such a thing would be unthinkable under normal circumstances. Taylor’s gaze hardened. Yet, Taylor did not perceive the hint, watching as Calvin repeated the question from earlier. Calvin lowered his eyes to the wine in his glass. "Mature, sexy..." Mature? Melissa was quite aware that she didn’t fall into this category. As for being sexy. She looked down at her plain self, feeling nothing but discouragement. Under everyone’s gaze, Melissa emptied her glass of wine in one gulp. "I...I’m going to the restroom." With that, she excused herself from the table and walked away. Calvin raised his glass in a toast towards Taylor. Taylor responded with a gentle smile and clinked his glass with Calvin’s. He didn’t finish his drink in one go like Sinclair and Calvin did, but savored it slowly instead. The trio then proceeded to change the topic, reviving the atmosphere in the room. Camilla noticed. Sinclair subconsciously reached for his cigar multiple times but always thought better of it and put it back down again. Understanding flashed in her eyes, she smiled at Sinclair. "Sweetheart, go ahead and drink, I’ll go to the bathroom too." Sinclair put down his wine glass and looked at Camilla with his dark eyes. "I’ll accompany you." The teasing smiles deepened on Calvin and Taylor’s faces. Camilla promptly shook her head, refusing. "No need, I know where it is." She had indeed noticed the bathroom at the end of the corridor when they entered the private room. "Come back soon." Seeing Camilla’s intention, Sinclair didn’t insist anymore. Camilla nodded, smiling, and walked out. She went to the lounge not far from the bathroom, standing on the balcony taking in the breeze. Just then, a burst of noise came from the outside. "Dammit," A man’s voice, filled with rage. "Not only did you bump into me without apologizing, but you also dared to hit me?!" Indeed, where there are people, there will be drama. No matter where it is. Camilla continued to look out the window with an indifferent expression, not intending to meddle in other’s affairs. Just then, another woman’s voice resonated. "You clearly bumped into me on purpose, how is it wrong if I hit you?" Listening to this familiar voice, a slight concern appeared in Camilla’s beautiful eyes.
