Chapter 42 - Visit to the marriage Registrar office Luther Residence "Sinclair," Grandpa looks at Sinclair. "Clear your schedule this afternoon, take Camilla to the civil affairs office." Originally, he planned to delegate it, intending to have their marriage certificate handled directly. But seeing how well the two kids are getting along, It seems more meaningful for them to personally receive something as ceremonious as a marriage certificate. Civil affairs office? Camilla is slightly taken aback, she turns her head to look at Sinclair. In her previous life, they never went to the civil affairs office, and she has never seen a marriage certificate. This causes her to completely forget about this matter. "Okay," Sinclair narrows his eyes, giving Camilla a light look. "Let's go now." There are still many important matters that the company needs to address. He certainly does not wish to waste the entire afternoon. Just as Grandpa Luther was about to nod, the voice of Camilla resounded. "We can't right now!!" As soon as her words came out, two gazes fell upon Camilla. One filled with bewilderment, the other scrutinizing. Was she unwilling? Sinclair's eyebrows furrowed slightly, his cold, dark eyes deep and unfathomable. "What's wrong, Camilla?" Grandpa Luther asked gently. "Are you still not feeling well, or are you not ready? If you're not ready, grandfather won't...." "That's not it, Grandfather, I am ready," Camilla lowered her head the moment she met Sinclair's eyes, as profound as the deep abyss. "Receiving a marriage certificate is an important matter. I need to go back to my room to get ready." She certainly did not wish to go receive a marriage certificate while bare-faced, dressed casually. Girls are always so serious about important matters. Sinclair is fiddling with the cup in his hands. His briefly knitted brow has relaxed unknowingly. "Ha ha ha, go ahead," grandpa immediately understood, smiling. "Take however long you need for preparation, grandson waits here patiently." "Grandpa, I don't want him to wait here," Camilla's eyes curved as she laughed. "I want him to accompany me, to go back to the room and prepare together." Sinclair's black clothes look quite nice. Yet today, she wishes for him to change into a less serious color. Prepare together? Sinclair paused fiddling with his cup, raising his head to look at Camilla. "Alright, alright, alright," grandpa turned to look at his grandson, laughing, "Sinclair, go back to the room with Camilla, and give your unconditional cooperation." Under the earnest gaze of grandpa and Camilla's hopeful eyes, Sinclair got up from the sofa. The two entered the room together. "Sinclair," Camilla didn't rush to change her clothes, but looked hopefully at the man behind her. "Today, we're going to take photos for our marriage certificate. Can I help you pick your clothes?" Sinclair. Ever since he heard this woman calling him husband, Sinclair felt inexplicably displeased every time he heard this address. Before he could speak, Camilla stepped forward two steps and raised a finger, looking at him with expectant eyes. "Sinclair, just this once, okay?" Her voice was soft and sweet. "Sinclair is what outsiders call me." Sinclair narrowed his eyes. "You should change your address." Change her address from Sinclair ? Camilla thought of Sandra and others calling him that way, she subconsciously felt some resistance. Husband? Those two words made Camilla's cheeks flush red. She couldn't call him that at any given moment, besides, Sinclair might not even like it. Seeing Camilla frown and staying silent, Sinclair's eyes deepened. Is it that difficult? Forget it. Sinclair slightly opened his thin lips, just about to speak. " Sweetheart," Camilla suddenly looked at him with bright eyes. "Can I call you Sweetheart from now on?" This was a unique name only she could use. Sweetheart? The words, called out in Camilla's soft and sweet voice, were indescribably pleasant to the ears. Just like a feather, lightly brushing across one's heart. Sinclair's face remained unchanged, a near-imperceptible smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. "Mmm." "Sweetheart," Camilla squinted her beautiful eyes slightly. "May I help you pick out clothes?" "You are my wife," Sinclair's countenance was warm. "There's no need to ask me about such trivial matters." Wife. A sweet smile filled Camilla's eyes. But as she opened Sinclair's wardrobe, the smile on her face faded. The entire wardrobe was devoid of any colour other than black, white, and grey. How drab. Then, Camilla suddenly remembered the clothes she had chosen while shopping for Sinclair, her eyes lighting up. She had an idea!! A moment later, a blue shirt was placed in front of Sinclair. "Sweetheart, you should wear this. Looking at the shirt that did not belong to his wardrobe, Sinclair raised an eyebrow. "Did you buy it?" "Uh-huh," Camilla unfolded another similarly colored long skirt in her hand and showed it to Sinclair. "The cashier said it was a couple's outfit, so I bought it. I've been hesitating to give it to you in case you don't like it." She looked at Sinclair, eyes questioning. "Should we wear these today?" This way, we'll look like a newlywed couple. Couple outfits? Sinclair's lips twitched a slight smile, and a warm glint flashed in his eyes. "Alright." Camilla let out a sigh of relief, holding the clothes as she walked into the bathroom. In the City. A building located in the golden central district. In the top-floor office. "Taylor," Calvin extinguishes the freshly lit cigarette in his hand, his eyes slightly squinting as he looks at the person opposite him. "Is your health better recently?" His narrow and amorous peach blossom eyes give off a heartfelt emotion, regardless of whom they are directed at. High-bridged nose, rosy and plump lips. His face is much too handsome, yet the aura he exudes is strong and masculine, completely devoid of any feminine qualities. It's rare for a man's appearance to be described as 'handsome'. Yet other than 'handsome', nothing else could describe the feeling this man gave. Across him sits Taylor, dressed in a pristine white shirt and black trousers, his features are clear-cut and handsome. The smile on his face and the scholarly aura he emits naturally gives an impression of warm gentility. However, upon closer inspection, one could tell that his complexion seemed a little pale. "My old ailment acting up again, it's nothing." Taylor suppressed the cough in his throat, picked up the teacup in front of him, took a sip, and said with a chuckle. "What about Sinclair? I heard that his arranged wife by Grandfather Luther had been set?" "Isn't that the case?" A mocking smile curled up on Calvin's face, which made it even more charming. "She's six years younger than Sinclair, and she's a sweet young wife." He continued with a touch of regret. "I thought given Sinclair's indifferent personality, he would somehow annul this unexpected engagement. However, to my surprise, he just accepted it, truly wasting my anticipation." "What do you think," Taylor grinned, his demeanor growing warmer. "how would Sinclair react if he heard you say that?" He will give him trouble!! Calvin sat upright. "Taylor," His long, peach blossom eyes narrowed, feigning a threatening posture. "If Sinclair hears this, we might not be friends anymore." Taylor chuckled, clearly not bothered by his friend's 'threat'. "By the way," Calvin sipped the coffee in front of him, his slim peach-blossom eyes twinkling with humor. "We haven't seen Sinclair for a while now. How about we invite him out for a gathering?" Taylor, with low-set eyebrows and eyes, took another sip from the tea in his hand. "I suspect that you want to meet Sinclair is a secondary concern. Your real intention is to catch a glimpse of his beautiful wife, isn't it?" "I heard that for this pretty wife, Sinclair not only crippled the youngest son of the Luna Family, but in front of Grandpa Porter, forced Sandra to apologize to her," Calvin shifted back on the couch, his peach-blossom eyes twinkled with curiosity. "Don't you want to know what kind of woman this is, who has the ability to make Sinclair protect her like this?" "Curious, but," Taylor put down the cup in his hand and laughed. "You make the call." Calvin: .... Why does he always have to be the one to initiate? He really needs to reconsider his friendships. Though things hadn't gone as he would've preferred, Calvin nevertheless resignedly nodded his head. In the Luther Family estate: Attired in a blue full-length dress, Camilla wore her chestnut waves loosely down her back. Her delicate, fair face was adorned with light makeup. Her already beautiful features were even more striking. "Sweetheart, do I look good?" Camilla asked, anticipating in her eyes as she looked at Sinclair. "You look good." Sinclair's gaze was tender, yet a shadow seemed to pass in his eyes momentarily. She always looked good, no matter what she wore. Even better when she wore nothing. Oblivious to Sinclair's shifting gaze, Camilla looked at him and smiled. "You too, this outfit suits you very well." She was telling the truth. Sinclair was dressed in a blue shirt of the same color scheme, along with black pants. The originally sharp aura and intimidating pressure were somehow softened by this gentle color. His distinct features shone through, leaving an impression of handsome simplicity. Despite his beautiful face maintaining its indifferent expression, a warm pulse could be seen deep in his eyes. "Let's go." "Wait a bit longer," Camilla grabbed Sinclair's arm. "There's one more thing we need to do." Sinclair paused, turning to look at the hand that was holding his. Camilla, however, didn't seem to notice this. "Sit down first," She led Sinclair by his hand to sit on a sofa chair nearby. "The scar on your lips, I'll cover it for you." So that's it. Sinclair's eyes slightly narrowed, a smile appearing on his refined face. "Why cover it up?" At a glance, it's obvious that it's the bite mark I left. The scar evident on the marriage certificate would always remind of the circumstances of last night. "It's nothing," Camilla mumbled quietly to herself, her face flushing a hint of red. "When taking wedding photos, we should aim for perfection." While speaking, she took out the concealer, leaning closer to inspect Sinclair's face for any blemishes. Before she could make any move, she was suddenly pulled into a strong embrace.
