"It’s true I’m a servant, but I’m also your—" Before he could finish, a deep voice abruptly cut him off. "Tyler—" Jonathan strode in, his expression grim, urgency flashing in his eyes. "Father." Tyler’s gaze sharpened as he rose from his seat, brushing past Norris to meet him. "Why have you returned so suddenly?" He feared Jonathan had caught wind of their movements. "Dad?" A cold chuckle escaped Jonathan’s lips. Norris lowered his head and stepped aside, his fists clenched so tightly at his sides that his knuckles cracked audibly. "Your grandfather’s in trouble. Come with me to the old house—now." Jonathan’s expression was icy, his voice clipped. "Norris, get the car ready." No matter how harsh grandpa had been toward him, he was still Jonathan’s only lifeline. If anything happened to him, Jonathan would undoubtedly suffer the consequences. Lost in his own thoughts, Norris didn’t respond. "What the hell are you standing around for?!" Seeing him frozen in place, Jonathan strode forward and kicked him hard, his voice laced with impatience and urgency. "Are you deaf?!" Tyler watched with detached indifference, his brow slightly furrowed. Staggering from the blow, Norris snapped back to reality and nodded hastily. "I’ll go right away." Her lowered eyes brimmed with resentment and unwillingness. --- Meanwhile. "What?" Calvin held his phone, his striking peach-blossom eyes dark with cold intensity. "Understood." After hanging up, he turned to Tiffany. "Sorry, something urgent came up. I’ll have to arrange for someone else to take you home." "It’s fine, I can just grab a cab. It’s not far anyway," Tiffany replied, noticing the uncharacteristic severity in Calvin’s expression. Without hesitation, she unbuckled her seatbelt and stepped out of the car. Just before closing the door, she leaned down and added softly, "No matter how urgent it is, please drive safely." Wouldn’t want another unlucky soul like me to get hit. Drive safe. Calvin gazed at Tiffany’s gentle, sweet face, his eyes narrowing slightly. "Alright." There was an unexpected hint of docility in his tone. Tiffany smiled, then finally closed the door and walked away. Through the rearview mirror, Calvin watched as she got into a taxi. He noted down the license plate number and sent it to Alec before starting the engine and driving off. The speeding white Porsche brushed past another slender figure. "He really didn’t follow me after all?"
