Chapter 15: Thin line between life and death The room before my eyes, was in utter chaos. Shattered furniture was scattered everywhere, along with mercenaries bearing numerous wounds. The harsh, metallic smell of blood added an eerie and terrifying ambiance to the entire room. Standing in the center of the room was Sinclair, dressed in a black shirt. His god-like handsome face flickered under the room's lighting, manifesting a sickly pallor. However, his narrowed eyes, which were locked onto Camilla's, were a stunning blood-red. The whole person exuded a chillingly icy killing intent, looking like a carnivorous beast eyeing its prey. Witnessing the ill Sinclair once again, Camilla's eyes stung, her heart constricting as if it was being grasped, making it hard for her to breathe. "Sinclair... Sinclair," She softened her voice and walked towards Sinclair. "I'm Camilla, your wife." "I won't hurt you; I'm here to take you home." Sinclair didn't hear anything. His vision, his world, was submerged in a sea of red. Watching the frail and skinny prey, seeming vulnerable enough to be killed by an easy swipe of the hand, move closer to him, the corners of Sinclair's mouth curled up slightly, revealing a chillingly bloodthirsty grin. Ramsey burst in with his men, upon seeing Camilla voluntarily approaching Sinclair, a flash of panic appeared on his face. "My Lady, you mustn't get any closer!" As he spoke, he gestured, prompting the mercenaries to swiftly advance. In a display of unwavering protection, they surrounded Camilla. Camilla's beautiful eyes grew somber. This is bad! Sinclair seemed irritated, his eyebrows furrowed, the crimson tint in his eyes intensifying. He stepped forward quickly, lifting his foot from the side. With exceedingly dominant force, he kicked a mercenary square in the chest. The mercenary reacted quickly, lifting his hands to block. *Crack*- The clear sound of bones breaking echoed as the mercenary stumbled backward and fell. Before he could even get back up, Sinclair had already thrown another punch. The other mercenaries exchanged glances, all of them swiftly engaging. But soon, several others were sent flying backward, their expressions filled with pain. Sure enough. The more serious President Luther's condition became, the stronger his power grew. Ramsey's expression grew even more grave, his entire body tensed to the extreme. Just then, several more mercenaries stumbled back. The smile deepened at the corners of Sinclair's mouth, and his blood-red eyes became even more exciting. "Ramsey," Camilla's expression hardened. "Sinclair's condition will only worsen with increased stimulation. Now, retreat behind me with your men!!" Ramsey frowned. "Madam--" "These men won't be able to hold them off for long," Camilla, her expression cold and stiff, exuded a compelling aura. "If you acknowledge me as your madam, then do as I say!!" Looking at the mercenaries continually falling to the ground before him, Ramsey hesitated for a moment before finally gritting his teeth and deciding to listen to Camilla. "Everyone, retreat!!" "Yes!" Upon the command, the numerous mercenaries made laborious yet swift movements to withdraw from the battlefield, retreating towards Camilla's rear. At this moment, Camilla and Sinclair found themselves face-to-face once more. Seeing the multitude of prey retreating, Sinclair's eyes slightly narrowed. The veins on his forehead and neck became increasingly prominent, showing his profound displeasure. "Remember, don't take actions unless it's absolutely necessary," After briefing Ramsey, Camilla put on a sweet smile and walked towards Sinclair, who was filled with a chilling aura of carnage. "Sinclair, don't be scared." In her soft voice, not a trace of fear could be detected. "I can't hurt you, and I won't...." Before she could finish her words, Sinclair suddenly made a move, severely choking Camilla's slender neck. The absolute suppression and terrifying sensation of strangulation followed.
