Camilla closed the door and walked around to the front of the car. Sure enough, there lay a little girl, no older than five or six, dressed in colorful traditional clothing. At first glance, it resembled the attire of an ethnic minority. Her snow-white cheeks were flushed, and her large, grape-like eyes brimmed with tears. Her tiny lips trembled as she fought back sobs. Camilla’s heart melted instantly. After scanning the surroundings, she found no sign of the child’s family. Kneeling beside the little girl, she extended her hand and spoke in the gentlest tone.
