"But I’m afraid it’s already too late for that, isn’t it?" Without giving them time to react, Goldrics extended his left hand. A sphere of white lightning formed in his palm—dense, violent, lethal. Then he fired. The bolt screamed down toward them, faster than sound, a white-hot death streaking through the air. Lloyd’s eyes widened. At this distance, even with Integration, there was no way he could dodge. Still, he tried to rise. He pushed with everything he had— But pain exploded in his ankle. He fell back down with a grunt, eyes flaring with desperation. ’The ankle—damn it, it’s not healing fast enough...!’ His hand shot toward his hilt, desperate to draw his blade, to defend them with something—anything. But the lightning was faster. Too fast. There was no more time. The sky turned white. BOOM! The bolt struck. The explosion was cataclysmic—flames and electricity burst outward in every direction. Dust and rubble flew up again, obscuring everything in a blinding storm of light and fury. For a moment, all was silent. Then Goldrics turned his back, his long coat fluttering in the wind as he faced the distant stadium. "All dead," he said coldly.
