Chapter 105: Summoner’s war 4 The Nyxaris [mass release 5/5] General Albert was dazed by the name of the person who had just interrupted their important meeting. For a fleeting moment, shock crossed his face. But as quickly as it came, he buried it beneath a mask of calm composure, unwilling to raise any suspicion. ’Ravin... what the hell are you doing here?’ "Savior? Are you insane? Do you not see the people you’re standing before, or have you gone completely blind?" Rodrics asked, his face twisted in confusion. "Death... that’s what you bargain for." Ravin simply laughed at their words, his grin as wide as it was unsettling. "That must be what it seems like... but you all know how crazy I am. You all know how highly ranked I am on all of your death lists, isn’t that right, Zhen Zhen?" Zhendeya narrowed her eyes, calm but alert. Slowly, she placed both hands flat on the table before her. "So how long have you been there?" Ravin’s grin only deepened, the edge of madness lurking behind his eyes. "Long enough to poison every dish and drink in this place. Which gives you... oh, just a few minutes left to live." The room erupted in a wave of gasps. Forks and spoons clattered against plates. Panic swelled in the air. "Poison?" Rodrics dropped the spoon in his hand, his face pale. He couldn’t taste even the slightest oddity in the food. Even worse, his summoned guardian hadn’t sensed anything either. It made no sense. "It seems we’ve underestimated you, Ravin," General Vareon muttered, brushing the corners of his mouth with his sleeve, wiping away small stains of food as though clearing evidence of a crime. "However..." he added, rising from his seat, "you’ve underestimated us too. To think poison alone is enough to save you from us all." Shia stepped forward, her boots echoing against the wooden floor. Her gaze was sharp as daggers. "You bastard," she hissed, walking up to Ravin. "You really think you’ll get away with this?" She lunged, her hands flying forward to seize him by the collar—but they passed straight through him. An illusion. Ravin’s image flickered and disappeared, only to reappear casually leaning by the doorway, arms folded as though this were all some entertaining performance. "You and your damned illusions," Shia growled, clenching her fists. "Why don’t you stand and fight?" "Me? Fight?" Ravin yelled, his laughter maniacal. "Why would I—a scientist—do that? No, no, no, no! We don’t engage in wars. We marvel... in the wonders of the destruction caused by people like you." He licked his lips, eyes glowing with dangerous satisfaction. "Still, I’m not the one who will deal with you." "Then what do you want from us?" Vareon slammed his fist on the table. A pulse of invisible blue energy radiated outward from him, making the room feel heavier, like gravity itself had grown angrier. Ravin chuckled darkly, then raised a small black box in his hand. "Right now, the forbidden summoning I invented many years ago has finally matured... and reached the time of usage." He turned his eyes toward one person. "Thank you... Albert." The entire room turned to General Albert, who had remained silent until now. The blood drained from his face as he met the accusing eyes of his comrades. "You... you had a hand in this?" Vareon asked, stepping forward. His hatred for Albert was no secret, and Ravin’s words had only fueled that fire. "You’d believe a criminal’s words?" Albert asked quickly, rising to his feet, trying to maintain composure. "I know you hate me, Vareon, but that’s not enough for you to press charges against me based on a madman’s accusations!" But inside, Albert’s heart thudded wildly. Ravin’s appearance threatened to destroy everything—his career, his plans, his future. ’Damn you, Ravin...’ Vareon opened his mouth to speak again, but before he could, a bright yellow light began to glow. Everyone’s eyes turned toward Ravin. He dropped the small box to the floor. A sound like a low hum filled the room, then—suddenly—a portal opened behind him, swirling with chaotic energy. From that rift in space stepped beings that made the blood run cold in every general’s veins. They were tall—at least seventeen feet—massive, with humanoid body structures warped by monstrous features. Horns curled out of their skulls, and their skin shimmered like armor, covered in scale-like plates. Their muscular frames radiated brute power and primal hunger. They resembled small Kaijus. But worse than their appearance... were the memories they triggered. Every general in the room froze. Their eyes sank into their sockets. Their throats turned dry. The atmosphere grew still, heavy with dread. "Nyxaris!" Shia shouted, her voice almost cracking from pure fury. A blazing red aura burst from her body, raw and unstable. The floor beneath her cracked under the force of her rising energy. Ten Nyxaris soldiers stepped into the room. Behind them walked a larger figure—their leader. This one was more massive than the rest, with additional horns twisting from his head and broader shoulders that scraped the top of the room. The portal closed behind them. Ravin raised his arms wide, laughing like a lunatic. "This is my army! You bastards... be prepared to be purged!" The tension shattered. Chairs were pushed back. Weapons began to glow with energy. Summons stirred. Shields were conjured, swords unsheathed, and battle stances were taken. The human generals now stood face to face with the one force they thought would never attack them uncalled for. The Nyxaris—creatures that wanted nothing more than destruction—had returned. Their presence confirmed it: The fragile treaty of peace... had now been shattered beyond repair.
