Lucas could never stand being lectured by others. Besides Old Sir Jiang and his uncle, anyone who dared to dictate to him would find him ready to explode on the spot. “She’s not your sister! She’s now a Jennings! She’s part of our Jennings Family. Her brother is upstairs, her brother downstairs. Who do you think you are, calling yourself her brother? Lucas’s arm felt numb as if he couldn’t move for a moment, and the next moment, he saw Scarlett, who had been on the single sofa, seemingly flicker into motion, crossing to him in two steps and snatching the bracelet from his hand. She glared at him with her almond eyes. The bracelet she had painstakingly retrieved had almost been ruined by this fool. Scarlett suspected this fool of doing it on purpose. Silly Lucas now bore an expression of terror. Just then, his whole arm had been immobilized, yet as soon as Scarlett snatched the bracelet away, his arm moved freely again! He didn’t believe it had nothing to do with Scarlett! Adam Jennings upstairs was even more shocked. Lucas downstairs might not have seen it clearly, but from his position, Adam could see Scarlett’s actions distinctly. In two strides, she had crossed to Lucas from three meters away, even with a table in between, her body unwavering, taking those steps as if it were nothing. This Scarlett Jennings, could she possibly have some skills? Josiah Garrison, however, didn’t feel as deeply as the Jennings brothers. He had been watching Lucas’s actions, and seeing Lucas about to break the bracelet, he had even hoped he’d hurry up and do it. To him, although it was something their grandmother left, Scarlett Jennings arguing with the family over such an item would be fine if it got destroyed. And if it broke in Lucas’s hands, Josiah could use the broken family heirloom as an excuse for outrage; then even if Scarlett didn’t want to help, she’d have to take responsibility. Josiah especially took a moment to realize what Jade Token she meant. A couple of years ago, she had suddenly picked up jade carving and even gifted him a piece she had carved herself. He remembered her saying, “Remember to carry it with you.” At that time, he agreed readily but turned around and tossed the ordinary jade token aside. He hadn’t seen it since. Now, hearing her inquire, Josiah didn’t feel guilty, only furrowing his brows, asking, “What’s the point of asking about that?” Scarlett’s eyes fell on his injured arm, and she smiled faintly, realizing, “Seems you’ve lost it.” When she gave it to him, she hadn’t mentioned it was specially crafted as a Protective Talisman. His car accident occurred because he got caught in Isolde Garrison’s Resentful Energy. If he had worn the Jade Token, he wouldn’t have been injured even in a crash. But now, with a broken arm, it was clear the jade token she carved was long gone. And he still dared to claim he genuinely treated her as family. It was laughably thick-skinned. “Scarlett...” Josiah seemed ready to explain more, but Scarlett was already tired of listening, cutting him off, “Isolde Garrison can come to me herself if she wants to solve her issue. Show the guest out!” The housekeeper appeared almost instantly, looking at Josiah with a standard smile. Showing guests out was quite routine for him. Josiah was forcibly escorted out of the Jennings house, and Lucas, seeing the unsavory character finally gone, ran upstairs with determination. He still had a score to settle with Scarlett!
