A long, fiery limb ripped through the air, lashing at its target with scorching ferocity. Unfortunately, before it reached its target, the limb dissipated into vermilion mana particles, scattering to the four winds. Bor, after an intense yet one-sided battle, had finally exhausted the spirit energy in the Fire Elemental’s Flame Core. This was the reason why elementals have always been so tricky to deal with. Depending on the caster’s mastery, they could be extremely dangerous, but usually, their speed and destructive capabilities were less than those of other summons. The problem was that they couldn’t be defeated easily, either, as every damage one dealt would only reduce the energy in an elemental’s core. Until one emptied the spirit’s core, one would have an annoying opponent to deal with. This was also why elementals were in the rare-tier. That said, Bor had finally vanquished his foe and turned to look at his comrade, eager to help. The Fellkin Warrior also wanted to eliminate Hal as quickly as possible. However, as his brain registered what he was witnessing, Bor’s eyes widened, and although he didn’t care one bit about Arukha, he still trembled at the sight of his comrade’s falling corpse. Arukha’s head was plummeting separately from his body, viscous purple blood raining down the site of carnage. Above, a massive, conjured greatsword hovered triumphantly. Bor didn’t know what happened, but Arukha was roughly as strong as him. The fact that he had been killed... This meant that he, too, had a chance of being defeated. It seemed that Hal Fennec was no joke. In any case, Bor believed that Arukha somehow underestimated the Magna Prospect and ended up paying with his life. He shouldn’t end up like him, as long as he patiently dismantles the young man’s defenses. ’I just need to take my time...’ With a momentary cold stare, Bor fearlessly bolted forward with [Thunder Rush], shooting spears at Hal in almost point-blank range. Unfortunately for him, the moment he destroyed the Fire Elemental, Hal had already been wary of him attacking. While the instantaneous reappearance was sudden, it was within Hal’s calculations. The Thunder Spears were easily dodged using [Blink]. The Fellkin Warrior wasn’t fazed, however, and continued to hunt Hal down with [Thunder Rush]. But then, Bor caught a glimpse of a subtle, cunning grin on the Magna Prospect’s face, and he suddenly skidded to a halt, though his glare never left his target. "Oh? Why did you stop?" Hal asked with raised brows, both curious and pleased. He knew the answer already, but still chose to question the Fellkin Warrior’s strange action. Of course, Bor had an inkling that the arrogant brat was only trying to anger him, but the very thought that the young human dared do so made it impossible for the Fellkin not to be infuriated. It was just that Arukha’s ending repeatedly reminded him not to rush things. A brief staredown ensued between the frowning and inwardly furious Fellkin Warrior and a grinning young human. "Keep talking, brat. Once I figure out your little tricks, you’re done for. Don’t think you’ll be able to do what you did to Arukha to me," responded Bor with suppressed anger. It was then that a massive outburst of flames erupted a fair distance away from them, compelling the two to stop their conversation and turn to look. Bor’s eyes widened as the flames vanished. In front of Ennya Kasai, another of his comrades—with his hands extended forward, seemingly attempting to pierce the young female human’s heart—was charred black, falling forward to the ground with a thud before disintegrating into ashes. "THAT’S FOR MY COMRADES YOU BASTARD!!" roared Ennya, a mix of emotions swirling in her heart. This was the first time she killed a humanoid. Yet, the dominant feeling in her agitated heart was vindication. Two of her subordinates perished earlier, and, as Ennya and her platoon retreated, she could only inwardly vow to avenge them in the future by incinerating one thousand Fellkin Warriors for each of them, if she would have no luck encountering their murderers again. She hadn’t expected that she would be able to slay one of the bastards this soon. Ennya’s passionate roar made the hearts of the Fire Platoon members tremble. Their willful and troublesome commander, who had always been difficult to convince and seemed uncaring whether they lived or died based on her illogical decisions in battle, valued them this much? There were even a bit of tears forming in the corners of the so-called Dragon’s eyes. Naturally, all of them were moved by her true colors and genuine sincerity, with a few even feeling deeply guilty for having hated her in the past, even if only slightly. They would no longer complain and would fight alongside her to her final whim. They were army wizards, and it was inevitable that some of them would die. But to die for such a talented and compassionate leader? It wouldn’t be so bad, would it? At least not that much compared to those who die under the orders of some dumb, bald, ugly, and stubborn old men. There were rumors of such high-ranking people in the army, after all. Meanwhile, Hal wanted to praise Ennya for a job well done. He certainly did not expect that she would be able to eliminate a Fellkin Warrior today. However, Hal couldn’t break character, as his taunts wouldn’t be as effective otherwise. He had also been casting the [Common]-tier spell, [Irritate], since earlier, attempting to anger Bor faster. The spell’s effects were just not taking effect as quickly as he hoped, despite it being level thirty-four already. It would take a bit more time and stacks of the spell to piss his opponent off. "Hahaha!" Hal suddenly laughed. "What now, Fellkin?" Bor gritted his teeth in frustration. He wanted to rip the damned brat’s mouth to pieces so he couldn’t speak anymore. Unfortunately, he didn’t dare continue the battle that easily, turning to Beran instead while keeping a portion of his attention on Hal, in case the infuriating bastard attacked. Beran had a reluctant look on his face, and Bor knew what he was thinking. After all, he, too, was pondering whether they should do it. This would be their last mission if they did. However, if they could kill Hal Fennec and Ennya Kasai by doing so, they would secure riches and beauties for themselves. Even if they ended up crippled and manaless after today, they would be set for life.
