The tiny summon quickly reached the maximum damage it could take and dissipated into mana particles soon after. "Competitor Hal brutally slaps the Spirit Sparrow to death!" announced Akari, her cute yet excited voice trembling. "Report this man for summon abuse!" chimed the older Jhow, Akari’s co-commentator, jokingly adding flavor to the battle. The commentators’ words finally pushed the already frustrated and slightly dumbfounded Wolfe over the edge. "You dare mock me?!" he roared. Hal was taken aback, not expecting his opponent to suddenly explode in anger. What was the guy expecting him to do? Waste a spell on such a weak creature? He had relied on the Spirit Sparrow to navigate through the Runeforest, so he knew it wasn’t meant for offensive use. At best, it could serve as a distraction for a stronger attack. Hal was simply too familiar with the creature to be bamboozled by such a dumb move. Wolfe gritted his teeth at Hal’s lack of reaction. "You think you can act like this just because others see you as mysterious? I know what you really did to get your spot, and I’ll teach you that a shroud of mystery only goes so far without real skill to back it up!" In the next moment, the Spirit Bear and the Spirit Wolf rushed toward Hal, the former charging in a straight line while the latter zigzagged to display its speed and agility. Hal didn’t show much of a reaction. He simply controlled his wolf in return. "Release it!" he roared, commanding his Spirit Bear, which had just reached attacking range, to smash its paw down on Hal’s Spirit Wolf. It surely wouldn’t survive if struck. But neither would Wolfe’s own wolf. Just before it was crushed by the bear, Hal’s wolf released its grip and leaped back, dodging the massive paw. As a result, Wolfe destroyed his own summon.
