Damn it!’ Hal sprinted toward the corners of the stage, dodging over a hundred rays with the help of [Swift] and [Enduring], though there were more than a few instances where he had to use repositioning spells to survive. His [Reinforced Earthen Wall] and [Mana Barrier] wouldn’t last half a second against such a barrage of void rays, so defending was out of the question. Naturally, fighting back was impossible. Hal was lucky to even be surviving. At least the Annihilation Eye was only following him with its eerie, soulless gaze and wasn’t attacking for now... ’Come on, just a few more seconds...’ His [Mist Veil] spell would come off cooldown soon. He just had to survive until then, and only after that would he think about what to do next. Hal was certainly not about to give up. While the situation was grim, Felix was human and was just as mortal as he was. One clean shot, even from a mere [Glacial Shard] to the neck, could easily result in a turnaround victory for him. The young master’s frown deepened with each passing second, frustration settling in. He couldn’t believe Hal was choosing to run around desperately like a chicken instead of saving face and giving up. ’This idiot...’ Felix thought, narrowing his eyes as he continued commanding his Void Eyes to end the battle. His opponent wouldn’t be able to keep this farce up forever, anyway. It would indeed be challenging for Hal to maintain this pace. However, he could always come up with a new farce to buy himself more time to think of a solution. Slamming his palm on the ground before instantly [Blink]ing away to dodge a few dozen void rays, he summoned the same, thick white mist that once again began to cover the entire arena, making Felix even more irritated than he already was. The young master was tired of this crap. "Do you really think I have no way to deal with this cheap trick of yours?" Felix muttered with a low, cold growl. The next moment, he began casting under the cover of the mist, a massive dark-purple magic circle forming above the stage. Meanwhile, the rat, having positioned himself at an unexpected spot near the edge of the stage, desperately pressed a holographic button in front of him. ’Come on, just one draw of [Dark Grip]...’ Lady Luck seemed to be smiling upon Hal today, as after only around ten draws, he pulled a card for the spell in question—with two charges—for just 100 Chaos Points. He then quickly navigated to the [Common Draw] menu. If the current situation confirmed anything, it was that Felix was indeed using a Void Core to sustain all his eyes. However, it seemed to have reached its limit, given that his opponent was no longer summoning more. If Hal could destroy that core, hidden somewhere in the void of the arena, everything Felix had built would collapse. He might even suffer a backlash. The problem was that the core was hidden, and Hal had no way of detecting it. His best bet would be to either blast the entire stage with a powerful spell the way Ennya always did, which was certainly impossible for him, or obtain a spell with the True Sight property. These were his only options. Another issue, however, was that he wasn’t nearly as well-versed in wizardry knowledge as Liora. He barely knew any spells that weren’t already in his arsenal. Fortunately, every ten levels, his spells underwent a change, and his intuition told him that his Spirit Sparrow, whose main weapon was its eyes, was his best bet. And so, hidden under the cover of [Dark Ward], he began pressing away like crazy once more. Felix’s magic circle was nearing completion, and the majority of the crowd was now cheering for him, frustrated by Hal’s repeated evasive tactics and what they saw as an ungraceful refusal to accept defeat. No one believed Hal could still turn the tide after what had just happened, and many found it lame that he was dragging things out instead of surrendering. Only those who had bet on his victory were glad that he had not given up yet. A few moments later, Felix’s huge spell was complete, causing a massive Void Dimension with spatial properties to open in the sky, sucking up all the white mist. It was certainly a large expenditure of mana for such a seemingly simple objective. However, the young master went through with it for two reasons. The first was to discourage his opponent, who was probably trying to wait for him to run out of mana, which would not happen anytime soon, since the void eyes were being maintained by a Void Core he had secretly summoned at the high edges of the stage. The second reason was to show off. To let everyone know he was nowhere near spent, and that the current battle was far too easy for him. That it wasn’t even close. That in this tournament, his talent was peerless. As the white mist cleared, however, everyone’s brows furrowed deeper and deeper. Hal Fennec was nowhere to be found. Even Felix was confused, glancing around and extending his search beyond the stage. It hadn’t crossed the young master’s mind that Hal might be using an invisibility spell. While everyone remained uncertain, Hal had already merged all the Spirit Sparrow cards he had drawn, raising the summon’s level to forty. He then began drawing [Rare]-tier cards without hesitation. "Continue. Competitor Hal is still on the stage," confirmed the referee in a firm voice, prompting Felix to click his tongue in annoyance. The young master’s eyes began darting around, finally realizing that his opponent was hiding. Is Hal perhaps in the void? In the shadows? In any case, there was one thing about invisibility: it didn’t make one untouchable. And so, with a ruthless wave of his wand, Felix began raining hell upon the entire stage, firing void rays at random locations. "Let’s see how long you can hide."
