Chapter 298: Chapter 298: Searching for House Deeds and Land Certificates
Land Officer Yang took a puff of his dry tobacco and said, "What you’re saying makes sense, but we still need to clarify this matter with Ms. Hua Junior. Otherwise, it would seem like our Yangshu Village is not open and fair, and lacks reason."
"Come on, Grandfather Hall, do you really expect us to be open and fair with someone like her? We’re completely justified in this matter, considering what her son did, right?"
Seeing Land Officer Yang hesitate a bit, Yang Chuxia continued, "Grandfather Hall, there’s no need to inform her about this. I bet she already knows. Remember the original guarantee letter and what you said?"
Land Officer Yang looked at Yang Chuxia and asked, "Are you just doing this for Brother An? You have no other intentions?"
"Hehe, of course." Yang Chuxia gave an awkward laugh and seeing Land Officer Yang’s doubtful eyes, she spread her hands and said, "Alright, I’ll be honest with you. I bought some people in town and didn’t have a place for them to stay, so I initially wanted to ask you which empty houses in the village were good for me to buy a couple. But then I suddenly thought of Ms. Hua Junior’s house, and figured I could help Brother An get it back and also borrow it in the meantime."
Upon hearing this, Land Officer Yang pondered for a moment and said, "Alright, I can make the decision on this matter. We can give the land and house back to Brother An first, and I’ll inform the village elders about it later. But the property transfer might have to wait until tomorrow, and I’m afraid the land and house deeds might still be in Ms. Hua Junior’s possession. I don’t know where she put them though."
Upon hearing this, Yang Chuxia waved her hand, "That’s easy! No need for you to make a special trip just for the transfer, Brother An can handle it himself." She thought to herself that she could just search Ms. Hua Junior’s house later and wasn’t worried about not finding those things. As for the transfer, wouldn’t they just need to go to the land registry? Brother An and she could just head over together, and at the same time bring back the people she had bought.
So Yang Chuxia bid farewell to Land Officer Yang and hurried back home. She then grabbed an iron hammer and headed for Ms. Hua Junior’s house, enlisting the help of two aunts on the way.
"Aunts, could you please help me tidy up the living room and kitchen of her house? I’ll take care of this room myself."
"Alright," one of the aunts replied. "We’ll turn Ms. Hua Junior’s house upside down today. When she comes back in a month, there will be hell to pay." This aunt had heard about Ms. Hua Junior and her son being locked up for a month.
"Tsk, how dare someone like her return to our village? It’s a good thing that Land Officer Yang is giving the house back to Brother An. This clearly shows the intent of driving Ms. Hua Junior and her son away. If they were to come back and continue living in our village, our village girls would have to be extra careful. If something bad happens again, there’s no telling where to find them."
"Isn’t that the truth? How many people are as lucky as Cai Xia from Jinxiu’s family, or DONGZHI? "
Yang Chuxia raised an eyebrow as she listened to the aunts outside, thinking that she had initially been worried about gossip in the village when she decided to help Brother An get his land and house back. But it turned out that everyone was more understanding than she had thought, which made things much easier.
Not paying further attention to the outside conversation, Yang Chuxia began searching through Ms. Hua Junior’s house. In fact, she had no interest in Ms. Hua Junior’s belongings; she just wanted to find out where she had put the land and house deeds, as well as the Ye Family’s household registration. She hoped to find and change those too, to ensure that names like Ye Ziping and Ye Zi’yong wouldn’t appear on the registration and bring shame to Brother An in the future.
Yang Chuxia looked around Ms. Hua Junior’s room, which appeared quite clean, much cleaner than the ones in Ms. Liu’s and Ms. Luo’s houses. She had to admit that Ms. Hua Junior did a good job in this regard.
