Chapter 205: Chapter 205: Division of the Old Yang Family
At this moment, Land Officer Yang softened a bit. From the beginning to the end, he had detested Old Lady Hua, but he didn’t have much against the children. He believed that the reason the children might end up bad was because of Old Lady Hua. Now that Old Lady Hua was dead, he believed that Yang Da’an’s family would get better.
Moreover, to be honest, Yang Da’an was not like Yang Xiao’an; though he was lazy, he never really did anything particularly malicious. As for Ms. Liu, her poisoning was instigated by Old Lady Hua.
So he asked Old Yang, "What do you think?"
Old Yang thought about it and said, "I never really planned to drive them out. Whoever made the mistake should bear the responsibility." Then he turned to Yang Da’an’s family and said, "You don’t need to cry in a hurry. You’ve called me ’father’ for so many years, and I never treated you as outsiders. The house and land in the family are still decided by me, and I will give you a share. I just hope that you can live a good life from now on and don’t think about things you shouldn’t."
After Old Yang finished speaking, Land Officer Yang also said, "That’s right, if you continue to be the same as before, ignoring what’s good and bad, I won’t spare you either."
Having received Old Yang’s guarantee, Yang Da’an and Ms. Liu were beyond excited. When they heard what Land Officer Yang had to say, they immediately promised to change their bad habits, including Yunyun.
Yang Xiaochuan was naturally dissatisfied with the outcome. Even though the second branch was gone, there was still one more person to compete with him for the inheritance.
Before he could say anything, Old Yang scolded him.
Yang Chuxia was also unhappy, but she didn’t say much. After all, Old Yang had the final say in the Yang Family. If Old Yang agreed, it seemed that she had no other choice. She only spoke up originally to test Old Yang’s attitude—if he wasn’t firm, she would take advantage of it; if he was, she wouldn’t mention it.
After Old Lady Hua’s body was sunk in the pond, the Yang Family finally separated. The mother and daughter of the second branch left cleanly, and their share of the inheritance was gone as well.
As for Old Yang’s final residence, although Yang Dachuan wanted him to stay with himself, Old Yang insisted on living with the fourth branch. Yang Dachuan could not understand why.
By the time things finally settled down in the Yang Family, it was getting late.
As for the final outcome of the situation, although it was not perfect, overall, it was still good.
Thinking that she would no longer be bothered by that dead old woman, Ms. Wang felt delighted. With such a good mood, she slept soundly.
The next day, when she lazily woke up, she found that everyone in the family had already finished breakfast.
"Xiaxia, you lazy girl, get up quickly! Your grandfather was looking for you earlier,"
"My grandfather was looking for me?" Yang Chuxia asked in confusion, "Mother, did Grandpa say what he wanted?"
Ms. Wang shook her head, "He didn’t say."
"Oh, then I’ll go find him later." She quickly washed up, grabbed two pancakes, and walked out the door while eating.
When she arrived at Old Yang’s house, Yang Chuxia shouted, "Grandpa?"
Old Yang came out of the principal wife’s room and said, "Grandpa, my mother said you were looking for me?"
Old Yang nodded, "Let’s go."
Yang Chuxia raised her eyebrows, wondering where to go. However, it was apparent that Old Yang didn’t plan to tell her. So she just followed him.
As she walked, she realized the place looked familiar. Upon closer inspection, she found that it was the road leading to her biological mother’s grave.
When they finally arrived at the place, Old Yang stopped and said, "I know you don’t want the first branch’s family to stay, feeling they’re taking what should be yours. But as a grandfather, I’ve raised them for so long, and I really can’t bear to see their whole family homeless."
