Chapter 163: Chapter 163: Old Lady Hua’s Sister-in-law
Ms. Wang looked over and saw that the person was none other than Old Lady Hua’s sister-in-law. She couldn’t help but wonder, why was this old woman here? A sister-in-law of Hua’s family couldn’t be a good person. They were all just like Old Lady Hua herself. This old woman used to belittle her often, and almost every time she came to Yangshu Village, she would berate her. Ms. Wang didn’t dare to talk back, though, because of Old Lady Hua’s status.
But now that they had separated households and were at odds with the principal wife, Ms. Wang didn’t know how to face this old woman and talk to her.
However, she didn’t have to think about how to entertain her anymore, because the old woman had already started speaking.
"Hey, Third’s family, I heard you guys separated, is that true?" The old woman glanced at the ox cart and, without waiting for permission from the owner, lifted the straw cover on the cart. Yang Chuxia immediately tried to stop her, but she didn’t succeed.
For a moment, all the villagers who had come to watch the commotion saw what was on the ox cart. They were all amazed and wondered how much silver it would cost for so many large boxes of crabs. They guessed that the other boxes must be similarly valuable. But what could all these crabs be for? Surely, they weren’t for the family to eat. Even a wealthy landowner wouldn’t be willing to spend so lavishly. Plus, there was no way one family could finish so many crabs on their own.
Listening to the sighs and puzzled gazes of the onlookers, Yang Chuxia knew the secret of their business deal with the restaurant would soon be exposed.
She gritted her teeth and snapped angrily at the offensive lady, "Who do you think you are, touching my family’s stuff without my permission?"
"You little wench! You don’t greet your auntie when you see her, and you even dare to yell at me? Are you asking for a beating?" The old woman raised her hand threateningly.
"Fuck off! Who are you to claim you’re my auntie? I’ve never even seen you before." Yang Chuxia grabbed the old woman’s arm with a little force and heard her howl in pain. She scrutinized the woman while wondering why there were no mentions of any maternal relatives from her deceased grandma’s side. And if she did have them, her father wouldn’t have been suppressed by Old Lady Hua so easily. Also, this old woman seemed like no good at all—she was trying to hit her before they even said hardly a word!
But why did this lady remind her of the folks from the Yang family, she thought?
Just then, she heard the old woman yell, "You damn girl, Ms. Hua of Yang Family, get your ass out here! If this little wench breaks my hand, I’ll have your brother come and give you hell."
Yang Chuxia then realized that this woman was Old Lady Hua’s sister-in-law. Wait, didn’t that make her Ms. Hua Junior’s mother? With this in mind, she glanced over at Ye Zi’an.
At that instant, the old woman also saw Zi’an and became even more infuriated. "Brother An, you little bastard! Can’t you see your grandma’s being restrained? Why don’t you come over and help me get rid of this wench?"
"Tsk..." Hearing her giving orders to Ye Zi’an, Yang Chuxia tightened her grip on the woman’s hand. "Old hag, who the hell are you to call yourself my auntie? My own grandma doesn’t even have siblings. What are you to me? You think you have the right to boss Brother An around? Your daughter is nothing more than a widow who brings bad luck! Instead of staying home, she dares to act all high and mighty. Get lost – we in Yangshu Village don’t welcome people with the Hua surname."
Without giving the old woman a chance to speak further, Yang Chuxia grabbed her hands and dragged her away.
